Ooo new quests?
Regret's mood took a sudden 180° after seeing the his new quests, almost as if he suddenly didn't care about Landon's death. Thinking it was the easiest, Regret decided to start with the 'Escape' quest.
But before heading out Regret waited to recharge his Chakra and Mana. While doing so, he decided to use another upgrade card on his system.
{System Upgrade Menu}
{Would you like to upgrade to:
[Skyrim System],
[RPG System], or add a
[System AI Assistant]}
Oh that's neat! Options are truly great!
After a few minutes of contemplation, Regret ultimately decided on the RPG System.
The system immediately added new stats:
[Species: Human Hybrid]
[Titles: Chaos Emperor]
[Occupation: None]
[Alignment: Chaotic Neutral]
[Energy Types: Mana (Essence, Aether), Chakra]
[Mana/Chakra: 4% / 7%]
[Strength: 10/20]
[Dexterity: 36/20]
[Constitution: 8/20]
[Agility: 75/20]
[Intelligence: ???/20]
[Wisdom: ???/20]
[Charisma: 20/20]
[Luck: -2/20]
[Passive Perception: ????]
"Hurray! More useless information!" Regret said to himself sarcastically
Ehhh? When is this system going to be actually good? I expected RPG upgrade to give like I dunno a crafting menu? A stackable inventory? Maybe a damage indicator or something? But no, it's just more stats. While I used to be a big fan of D&D, this information serves no purpose, for I know all this without needing such an idiotic thing like a screen.
Back on Topic;
The place where Regret landed after falling from the dragon was in the middle of a dense forest. After he finished recharging his chakra and mana to full, Regret climbed up to on of the branches of a nearby tree. Although he did not have a world map, he used his system's compass feature (One of the only things he actually finds useful) to head West to the nation of Asharia. Deciding it better to flee to Asharia then Sequen.
The Toria Kingdom lies on the enormous Continent of Ayix. To the North of Toria is a wild ocean called The Infernal Tides, a place where few dare to sail. To the east, past a huge calm river called the Cobalt Channel, lies Sequen, an independent nation currently at war with Toria. Not much is known about Sequen, other than its severe lack of resources, its love of independence, and its huge military. To the south of Toria is an unoccupied swampland, not claimed by any country do to the little value of it, and poisonous environment. Past the swampland lies another small country lying in an enormous mountain range, which is almost unknown about by the people of Toria. Finally, to the west, past the hilly terrain of Toria lies the country of Asharia. Asharia is a mediocre sized nation, under the jurisdiction of the Zenovus Empire to the North-West.
Regret then began jumping from tree to tree on his way to the West.
Along the way Regret was met with many encounters. He fought off many packs of wolves, found a cave of goblins and wiped them out, and at one point found a couple destroyed wagons filled with the robbed corpses of four elves, and outside of the wagons, two corpses of what were likely guards.
After less then two minutes of investigating he found tracks belonging to over a dozen people. Following them to an old forest temple where he found about twenty or so bandits, a few slaves, some elven prisoners, and a lone knight fighting them.
Regret quickly engaged into the fight against the bandits.
He entered the battle via FTG (Flying Thunder God) and began slaughtering the bandits with kunai. Less than three seconds from his arrival there were only three bandits (one of which who was likely the leader) and the singular knight left.
"Are you alright?" Regret asked the knight
"Uh- yea- the other guards are dead however... how did you defeat the bandits so easily Sir?" The knight was clearly quite surprised by the strength and speed belonging to Regret. The badly injured man seemed to be in his mid thirties, and had a Rank of Intermediate-Elite Knight.
"I see.."
Regret dashed forward, and slit the throats of two of the remaining bandits in a single swipe of his kunai. The only bandit left was the leader, who was at the moment paralyzed in fear.
The bandit leader was in his sixties or seventies and was Low-Elite Ranked and although it was high for someone non-professionally trained, even the knight would have been able to kill him if he wasn't already injured. Regret easily dispatched with him.
With all the bandits killed, Regret and the knight freed the slaves; who quickly ran away, and the two prisoners. The prisoners were a pair of two elves with the appearance of people in their twenties.
Regret spoke with the elves and the knight. He found the knight was named Edward Lane, and the couple was a male named Yale Nash, and the woman was Erline Nash, they were a married couple. Yale and Erline were actually returning to Bares Gore, a town in Asharia, from the homeland of the Elves; Zorus; specifically the couple's homecity of Gao Edhil, where they had just gotten married. Edward was a knight they met on the way back to Bares Gore, who offered to help guard them on their way back along with their already higher guards since he was going in that direction anyways. The bandits ambushed them, killing their hired human guards, and four of their kinsman friends who had attended their wedding.
After their conversation and many thanks, the two elves offered Regret to go with them to Bares Gore, which he accepted.
Jeez, over 250 word Stat Page...
Had to draw an entire map for Ayix :P
Happy New Year!! :P
As said in Notice #1 there will be many inconsistencies from the two volumes, also I'm again sorry for the wait.
Going to try and fix vol 1 eventually.
This was originally going to be a much longer story point; trying to leave Toria (like it would have been like 3 chapters) but I kept it sort because it would have most likely been very boring.
