The crowd laughed.

Mo Shan closed her eyes in despair. She quietly clenched her fist and punched his arm.

The man saw her before she hit him but did not try to avoid the attack.

"So now you're hitting me? Very good!" He let go of her chin and stood up to see the owner of the establishment running hastily toward him through the crowd.

"Boss, your girl here hit me. How are you going to compensate me? Everyone here saw it happen!"

"I didn't!" Mo Shan quickly shook her head. "It was him, he humiliated me!"

"You didn't? First it was a slap, and then a punch on my arm. Do you think everyone here is blind?" The man put his cash back into his pocket. "I don't want a fuss. Just pay me a few grand and I will consider this settled!"

Mo Shan did not even have any spare change. The only cash she had was from selling her jewellery, but even that money was almost gone too.

How on earth could she pay him a few grand?
