This fucking city is like the second floor. I encounter something only when I go to the right direction. Unless I do that, I won't see a single soul no matter how long I walk.
So, this stupid thing is like a maze made out of city. And luckily, I got my sense of smell to help me guide my path around this city. Fucking werewolves smell like wet dogs. And that makes it so much easier.
I encountered werewolves twice since my first encounter. And their quality isn't increasing, only quantity. First, it was one. Next, three then five. I'm sure next pack will be at least seven.
And just as I expected, I'm smelling ten wet mutts behind this house. Since I went through the first floor, the unpleasant smells don't bother me as much.
I circle around the house and see them. But this time there is something different. There is different wolf there.
Quadrupedal wolf. As tall as the werewolves. Still, the look in its eyes is savagery and hunger. Still, interesting to see something different. And all ten of them pounce on me as soon as they see me.
Mindless beasts. Solely dependent on their instincts. They swarm me from front. Idiots.
"Noir."
As soon as I call out to him, Noir bursts out of the ground behind me and phases through me. And as soon as he passes through me, he boosts forward with ferocity and hits the werewolves like a feather.
And apparently, this is the so-called trait elemental charge. As he boosts forward with elemental charge, a film with blue hue like his mane materializes in front of him and hits whatever in front of him like a charging bull.
As the werewolves and the giant wolf fall to the ground, their furs start to ignite and burn with blue flames. Ooh, this is so easy.
They whimper as they burn. And as procedure dictates, they turn back to humans and disintegrate. And as soon as that happens, I suddenly smell something else. A predator.
Something dangerous. Well, not to me but still something better than those mindless mutts. And there is a tinge of familiar scent. Where did I smell that scent? Oh shit, I sound like a dog. Hehehe.
I'm a funny dude.
I search for source of the scent. And come out in another backyard. I find the source. Another werewolf. But much bigger than others. Almost 2.4 meters tall. And most strange thing is: this one has horns. Two horns curving upward from its temples. It's in armor. Wait a minute I know that armor.
And there is tinge of intelligence in its eyes.
"You!"
"Second Prince?"
"YOU WHILE HUMAN. IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT."
"hehehe. It is you."
ROAR!
He roars at me and pounces on me. Idiot.
"Noir."
"Neigh."
Like before Noir bursts out of the ground and charges at second prince. Second prince gets thrown away like a ragdoll and hits the nearest house's wall.
But Noir's flames fail to ignite on his furs. I think it's the armor. Still, the impact got him good. He is struggling to stand up.
"What happened to you, dude?"
"It's all you… cough… r fault."
"Then, sorry I guess."
"You, an accursed curse befell me. Only… cough… if you didn't exist, I would have been a crown prince by now! Only if you didn't exist, I wouldn't have become this cursed beast!"
He screams at me with guttural voice.
"Come on don't be so mad. I apologized, right?"
"HEH! Fuck you!"
"Come on dude, no need to be so rude."
"ROAR!!"
Hehe, my jokes are killing him. Poor idiot.
"Anyway, how did you become like that?"
"ROAR!!"
Now, he keeps roaring at me. I think he is starting to lose. Pity. I'm sure it was hard to keep his sanity after becoming like this.
"ROAR!!"
And as he roars more, he starts to transform. His form starts to take more of a quadrupedal shape. So, more you give into your primal side, more you resemble real wolf. Nah. That is wrong.
Wolves are cunning and patient animals. Those mindless beasts are just, well, mindless beasts. I wonder what his armor is made out of. It is actually changing its form according to his shape. That is convenient.
Mine does that too, but I'm sure his is not made out of mana crystals.
"GRRR!"
He growls at me after finishing his transformation. Now, there isn't a smidge of intelligence left in his eyes. I guess he gave up.
"Come on, then. To respect your tenacity to last this long and the sacrifice of your girls, I will kill you myself."
As I say that, my hidden blades slid out of my wrists. He looks at me menacingly. I guess his hatred for me stayed behind after all. Hehe.
He growls at me and pounces on me with his maws gaping to bite me into pieces. I dash to my left to dodge his bite and tries to stab him in the gut. My hidden blade pierces through his armor easily with its mana edge.
But even as my blade digs into his guts, he doesn't let out a peep and turns around to bite me again. I punch him in the snout and throw him away.
His bleeding is already stopped. I guess the transformation did wonders to his vitality. He lunges at me again. I dash back and dodge his bite.
BOOM!
And as soon as he bites down, I dash forward again and hit him in the snout with my first technique. His head whiplashes upward.
CRUNCH!
I hear bones breaking. Still, his head goes back to place and he looks at me with his hate filled eyes. Indeed, tenacious. I bring out my katana and get into stance. This time he swipes at me with his right claws.
I slash at his claws with my katana and cut down his right front leg. He still refuses to whimper. Good. As he backs away after getting amputated, I dash after him and cut off his other leg.
He falls to the ground. His legs are actually growing back. This is something else. But it is too late. I stab with my katana into his ribcage and pierce through his lungs and heart.
As I do that, he vomits blood. And falls to the ground helplessly. The blood lust in his eyes recede as he bleeds to death. And intelligence comes back little by little.
"CURSE YOU, HUMAN!"
He starts to turn back as he bleeds out.
"CURSE YOU, HUMAN!"
He screams once again.
"Don't worry, I won't let the dungeon have you."
Saying that, I take a deep breath and cast my fire-breath. As my dark fire consume him, I hear him scream.
"CURSE YOU, HUMAN!"
"CURSE YOU, HUMAN!"
"CURSE YOU, HUMAN!"
After a while there is nothing, but an ash left of him.
"Indeed, you were right. If only I didn't exist. But I guess you were simply unfortunate."
While I was cremating him, Noir stands next to me. I look at him.
"What do you think? Am I evil person for saying that?"
He looks at me and actually shrugs his shoulders.
"HAHAHAHAHA. You are right. Who the hell cares, right?"
