After profusely thanking Jia Bi Yu, they finally reluctantly allowed him to return to the surface.
This time around, the Abbot wanted to keep him at the monastery for a few more days, hoping to leave a better impression on him.
Using the typical excuse of still having matters to attend to, the Abbot could only sigh in regret.
The Abbot had hoped to chat a bit more with Jia Bi Yu as he waited for Wu Shang Tang to pick him up, but Jia Bi Yu refused when the Abbot wanted to make a call to Wu Shang Tang.
One could not receive cell phone signals up in this monastery, and they had to rely on a landline in order to make and receive calls.
A young monk then came running up to them, telling him that a young girl named Chen Mei Ling had called earlier, just slightly over two hours before they left the painting world.
He had called her from the monastery's landline the very first day he arrived, telling her that he will not be home for a few days and to call the number he called from if there was anything urgent.
Jia Bi Yu did not stay a second longer and left right away.
The Abbot ran out to tell him that the monastery was quite far from A City, but when he came outside, Jia Bi Yu was already nowhere to be found.
He shook his head and went back inside.
As soon as he walked out of the monastery doors, Jia Bi Yu teleported back into his bedroom in his apartment.
He was no longer afraid even if the monks had seen him as he knew they had long assumed he was someone from the upper realms.
Having to always be wary about his surroundings before using his abilities, it was quite nice to have a place where he could lower his guard even if only a tiny bit.
When he left the monastery, it was already late afternoon.
Usually, at this time, Chen Mei Ling would have already arrived home from school, but she still wasn't back yet.
He started to get worried and tried to call her cell phone.
The call was only picked up after the fifth ring.
He breathed out in relief when her sweet voice answered back.
"You called the monastery before?" He asked.
There was a slight hesitation before she replied.
"....hehe I just really missed you, gege, and was wondering when you would be back. Since you're calling from your cell phone, you left the monastery?"
"Mm. I'm already home," a slight smile formed on his face before he frowned once again. "Was that really all? There's nothing wrong?"
"Really really," Chen Mei Ling let out a soft giggle. "You worry too much. What? I can't miss my brother now?"
He can hear the pout in her voice as he also let out a few soft giggles.
"So are you almost home?" He asked her.
"I promised to hang out with my friend for a bit," she replied. "You don't have to wait for me to eat dinner. I might be home a bit late."
"Don't stay out too late. You still have school tomorrow. How about your homework?"
"Geez, you're starting to sound like a mom," Chen Mei Ling teased. "I already finished it before school ended today."
"Okay. Stay safe then," Jia Bi Yu said.
"...mm. I got to go now."
"Mm," they ended the call.
He felt she was acting a bit strange, but it didn't sound like she was in any trouble.
If anything, he can question her again when she's home later tonight.
He then closed his eyes and willed his mind and his body disappeared from his room once again.
When he opened them once again, he was already inside his dimensional space.
The energy inside felt more abundant than when he last took a look.
Through his mental powers, he looked at the whole space through a bird's eye view.
The whole space originally was only around five hundred cubic meters big, but now it had grown ten times bigger.
It was just slightly over five thousand cubic meters.
He couldn't help but be excited over the changes.
That dimensional portal had really brought him many benefits.
Ian had arrived by his side as soon as he appeared inside.
He hugged the little dragon that stayed in his baby form.
Ian was able to transform his body size at will now and knowing that Jia Bi Yu preferred his small cuddly form, he decided to just stay in that form no matter how much he grew.
"Come see this, Mother," Ian said and the two suddenly teleported to another area in the space.
This was a dimensional space and they could move around with just a mere thought.
They did not even need to waste mana on using teleport magic.
Ian had brought Jia Bi Yu to look at an exact replica of the fissure that was absorbed from the monastery.
