章節 14: Miyu: Survey Corps
The next day arrives with the sound of birds chirping. One of the few sounds that I miss from the old days is the sweet sounds of birds. This sound is something I need to hold dear to my heart and never forget when things get dark. I really hope Historio lets me join the Survey Corp. Well, I guess I should go get some food before heading out. Hmm, I wonder what I should get. Sigh who am I lying to there's never an option with the military. I drag my body towards the cafe and see what's for food.
As soon as I walk towards the cafe the smell of bland porridge hits my nostrils. Argh not looking forward towards eating this at all. I'm so tired of eating this damn porridge all the time. I really need to learn how to cook because I can't be eating this all the damn time. Grudgingly I walk towards the line waiting to eat. Everyone looks so damn miserable waiting to eat. At least I see Historio looking as miserable as me on the line.
As I wait for it to be my turn on the line I keep thinking about this monster that's been seen. Could there really be a monster like that out there in this world? Heh, why wouldn't it? After all, I've seen I can't deny this any longer. Historio better let me join after saving his ass last time. I've done so many favors for him throughout all the time I've seen him. Before I notice it was already my turn to eat. Wow, I sure can't wait. The "chef" plops a big amount of porridge into a wooden bowl and hands it over without even looking at me. Don't look too excited now.
"Hey, Historio!", I walk over to him as we walk towards a seat to sit down. He looks at the nasty unknown porridge.
"Sigh why do we have to eat this nasty crap.", Sadly he swirls his spoon in the porridge.
Frankly just looking at that makes me feel nauseous.
"Anyways I heard that you guys are going to the outskirt of town to look for these monsters."
"Yeah, we are. It could be dangerous but hey we're the Survey Corp."
"Do you think I can join you guys."
"Well, that was very straight forward of you. You want to find someone, don't you?
How did he know?
"Look I know you're looking for someone it's not too hard to tell. You have this look in your eyes that you look lost and need to find someone."
"..."
Am I really that open like a book? Does it even matter?
"Yeah, I am looking for someone. So can I join or not?"
Historio is silent for a moment as he eats his food.
"Yeah you can join. However we need to get you geared up and get you ready. Come on hurry up and eat your food we have 2 hours before we head out."
I try to keep my excitement held within me. Finally Miyu I'm going to find you just give me time!
