"Our what?" The sweat began dripping down my face.

She pushed her way passed while I was still reeling in shock. Glancing around the room, her eyes looked onto the bedroom door, she quickly dashed towards, preventing me from stopping her. With a violent kick of her foot, she blew the door open.

Rushing after her, I entered the bedroom. Mordred, flailing about, was being dragged out from under the bed by his leg. I began reaching for my dagger, ready for a fight.

"Oh, don't worry. I won't rat you out. It only makes things more interesting." She turned to Mordred. "So, you are Dracoth's new host? Kinda puny, if I don't say." She gave him a disapproving look.

Mordred sent a silent plea towards me with his eyes. "Put him down," I forced out through clenched teeth. With that, she let go and Mordred fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

"What do you want?" Mordred stammered, quickly backing away from her grasp.

"To have fun," Vis smiled wickedly.

"What do you mean by that?" I interjected.

"I live for chaos, the suffering of others. Your little rebellion just makes shiver with excitement." Her expression turned dead serious. "I always wanted to kill a demon host. You make a nice warm up."

Her expression returned back into her unsettling cheerful mask. "If you enjoy suffering that much, why didn't you kill the other one?" I asked.

"Because the other one would suffer. They always suffer when someone dies in front of them. Watching squirm with rage and vengeance as they try to kill me makes their deaths all the more… delectable."

"You are one sick person," Mordred shouted.

"Thank you. Ooh, I can't wait to see Astaroth's expression when I tell him I killed the both of you." She turned and left into the night.

"I think we have to talk to your friends now."

Mordred just nodded.

Persephone

Solskin was alive and that was all that mattered. I couldn't lose another person. Realizing we were no longer safe, we moved away from the inn. Inside the armored carriage, the unconscious body of Solskin and I were taken deep into the military sector, to be right next door to Carolinus and Epoch.

This way, we should be safe. However, I quiet anger seethed inside me. We will fight back.

I will kill those demons.
