章節 26: Ranking Battles (4)

Today, there was no class because of the tournaments. It would be like this for the start of every tournament so that the students could prepare for their matches for the rest of the days of the tournament. The tournament would take place after school. The periods would be an hour each instead of its usual hour and a half so that the students would get out sooner. The first match of the day would be at 8 in the morning, multiple going on at the same time. There were 128 students in F rank, including Sam and Daniel. Sam was at the top of the F ranks, just behind a student who had been in the academy for a year longer than Sam. Daniel was the 26th on the ranking list.

Since they were high ranked, their matches would be later on in the day, taking place at 4 in the afternoon. The even and odds decided what the bracket would look like. Odds vs Odds, Evens vs. Evens until the winner of the Evens battled the winner of the Odds side.

Sam was still sore from the intense training, but the pain was less intense by a large margin. Sam lazily rolled out of bed and got up leisurely, knowing that panicking wouldn't do him any good. Sam brushed his teeth and splashed his face with water to fullly wake himself up. He combed his hair with his fingers and got dressed. Despite this being a significant day, Sam wore sweat pants and a loose black tank top with a blue and black track suit jacket over it. This was because of the possibility of dancing.

Sam's phone vibrated, it was the group chat.

Ajaxtheking: @Samthefifthplanet wanna go for a walk to get your sore muscles feeling better?

Samthefifthplanet: How's that going to help?

Ajaxtheking: Ever heard of active recovery? Low intensity exercise helps blood flow, to the muscles, increasing the recovery process. Nothing to hard, because that'll just tire the muscles out again.

Samthefifthplanet: Sure I guess, but we gotta be going somewhere.

Ajaxtheking: How about the boba shop? It's across the campus from your dorm.

Samthefifthplanet: Sure. When?

Ajaxtheking: I'll just jog over and tell you when I get there.

Samthefifthplanet: K

Grace:):I'm in the area, can I join?

Mariannnnne: What's with you people? Up so early. WTH.

Belladonna: Allison and I are around too, can we come along?

Mariannnnne: I'm gonna join too then, you guys can't have fun without me.

Dominic: Do I need to chaperone?

Ajaxtheking: Fine... You know what, everyone should come. @DamnDaniel @JacefromStateFarm @Ash

Ajaxtheking: You all joining?

DamnDaniel: Ye

JacefromStateFarm: Sure, I guess we meet at Sam's dorm?

Ash: Bros over hoes,so yeah

Dominic: -_- another girl last night? Tsk. When will girls learn that there is absolutely no possibility of you dating them if they sleep with you...

Ash: Girls. Plural my man.

Ajaxtheking: So promiscuous.

Belladonna: 🤢 I wonder how many STDs he has.

Ash: A man needs his fill

Ajaxtheking: of STDs

Mariannnnne: Lol, I'm walking over to Sam's dorm

Ajaxtheking: I already got here many minutes ago. Whoops, I forgot, Sam, I'm here, come down.

DamnDaniel: I was always here, in the same dorm.

Ajaxtheking: Stop ruining it for me :(

Samthefifthplanet: I'm walking in out of the dorm now.

DamnDaniel: Me too

Samthefifthplanet: No fighting, kids

Ajaxtheking: >:)

DamnDaniel: >:)

Sam facepalmed and put his phone in his pocket before taking his key and exiting his room to go the elevator.

When Sam reached the ground floor, Marianne and Ajax were there waiting.

"Wassup my dude, how do you feel?"

"Better than yesterday, but still sore."

"Sorry for being so harsh."

"No problem, you had to."

"Aww, Sam, do you want me to massage it for you?" Marianne purred, a joking smile on her face.

"Sure, but I'm not paying you," Sam chuckled. He would take any free massage that came his way.

"Where?"

"My shoulders."

Marianne went behind Sam and started to massage him. The latter gave a deep groan of pleasure.

"Dude, I don't wanna watch this. Too R rated. It's like the intro of a porno," Ajax commented.

"I guess you must have watched many to know on sight," Marianne retorted.

The two started to bicker playfully until the rest of the group joined them. They then walked to the boba shop and ordered.

After eating lunch with them and going back to his dorm, Sam realized that his body hurt less. He spent the next two hours rehearsing his acts until it was 3:30 when he walked to the stadium that was in the center of campus.

He could hear the shout of the crowd and the occasional applause from the outside. At one side, there were some signs that pointed to the left. "This way for people participating."

Sam followed the signs and reached a door.
