Having made some distance from the wall, the couple finally could breathe in relief. Finally they had escaped the King's City together. Now there was a whole new journey in front f them. Who knows where the road would lead them towards?
Finding a clearing to rest up a bit, James looked at Loraine. The expression he had was one that could not believe what had happened. He kept on thinking, "I am in a dream? Is this actually happening?"
Walking over to Loraine to help her dismount her horse, James thanked Loraine, "Thank you, my love, for actually following me on this stupid decision."
Loraine looked a bit surprised to the words that James said before she replied, "It was the only choice that they left us. And I have no regret on doing this. The question now is where are we actually heading to?"
That was indeed a correct question. Because the whole escape was rushed and not planned, no one knew where they were actually headed towards. Not even themselves. Thinking on the subject James could not find a destination. Looking at Loraine, he asked "Is there a place that you wanted to visit?"
Shaking her head, Loraine replied, "I don't have a particular destination in mind. We only have to make sure that wherever we go, it is either quite populated or removed from communication. With that we could properly hide. Otherwise it would be a matter of time before they find us again."
What Loraine just said was correct. They had to hide for a certain time. So it was not smart to linger out in a place where they could easily be detected. Thinking about the range of influence, the best option to James was either one of the bigger cities down south. Because of their population sizes, they were easy to hide in. Moreover if they went to the City of Valencia or the port City of Clearwater, they could easily find a boat to transport away.
As they still had some ways to go, the best option for now was the City of Valencia as it was a bit closer by. Depending on the situation they could always relocate themselves further to the south, to Clearwater.
Deciding on this, James explained his reasoning and ideas to Loraine. Thinking about it, Loraine could not help but keep nodding. It was indeed a smart choice to find a location that was close to a port. With that they would be able to escape over the water if required. Moreover, living in the rural area was already something that Loraine hoped did not happen. As she was already used to the city life.
Seeing Loraine agree with the idea of Valencia, James said, "Well that's decided then. We can go there and start our new lives. And if everything goes well, we might even live the rest of our lives there. I have heard that it is a beautiful city, with lots of romantic places."
Not knowing why, but James kept on talking. It might be that the excitement of the idea of finally living with Loraine is getting the better of him. Being not that talkative normally, James felt that something was taking over his mind.
Loraine only kept laughing and nodding, as the whole situation of James looked comical.
