章節 14: Demonic Hybrids

Having talked with Francis for some time, James mood increased by heaps. He was eager to enter the fray again. He felt that today was the day that the horn would be blown again and he would be charging into the beasts again. Unlike the first day, when he first saw those beasts, today he was ready and well prepared to face them.

It took the higher ups a few more minutes to show themselves for today's routine. As they started to slowly appear one after the other, James noticed Sir Edward exit as one of the last people. Not soon after Sir Edward exited the building he started shouting to the mass, "Everyone, you know the routine by now. So what are you waiting for! Get in line and get started with your training!" Upon hearing these words, everyone made pairs to spar with each other.

As James made a friend in this place, he partnered up with Francis. By doing this, he could get back into the rhythm on his own phase, after resting for a few days. James started with an overhead slash towards Francis. As James was starting easy, his attack was also less ferocious compared to his fight against Edgar. This attack was easily blocked by Francis, who struck back towards James by lunging his sword towards him. James easily parried this attack by sharply raising his sword and hitting Francis' sword.

This back and forth attacks and slow phased training took another 5 minutes, when exhausting started to get them from the constant fighting. Just when Francis was about to strike James from the side, a loud horn could be heard. "bwAAAAAAAHHHP!" As everyone heard this familiar sound again, they stopped with what they were doing and got back in line.

James felt happiness in his heart, the day he returned, he was welcomed by the devil's beasts. It was sure his lucky day.

"As you all can hear, we have visitors!" Sir Edward joked around. "I guess that we as hosts should do our best to welcome them as best as possible!" Unlike the first day, the mood was better today. There were some nervous knights, however as everyone standing here had faced and survived the fight against these beasts, more people were ready to meet them again. "Now quickly get ready, we will move out within the hour!" Sir Edward commanded.

As James was not too exhausted from his fight, it took him less than 5 minutes to get his breath back. So he had to wait for others to get ready to move out as a unit. Waiting for another 30 minutes, the yard was filled again with knights ready to move out. As if having noticed this, Sir Edward, together with Prince Gerald, moved out from the tall building commanding them to move forward towards the walls. "It is time again to battle till our hearts content! Let's show them what we can do!" Gerald said in order to raise the morale before they left the barracks.

Arriving at the walls, the sight James saw was similar to what he saw in the first day. A bunch of devils beasts who were charging towards the walls. There were again several wolves as well boars aiming for the walls to no avail. As well as the eagle like beasts that they fought on top of the walls. However, James noticed that there was something different this time. A few lion like creatures were also charging among the beasts. But what shocked him was that these lion like beasts had huge bat wings behind them.

James had heard of these vile creatures. These were the feared demonic hybrids and today, they were upon them.
