Lili looked up at Aaron slowly, trying to process her own weird eloquence while trying to get along with people and his reaction to her proposal for 'friendship'.
She found a confused Aaron contemplating about something, his breath unsteady.
Am I that unacceptable as a friend?
Of course I am.
That's the reason why I never had a friend.
"I am dangerous" my foot.
Just tell on my face boy you don't want to be friends with a stupid girl and get yourself embarrassment.
Lili lowered her eyes in anger, turned around swiftly and started to walk hastily.
But just as she started to move she felt a large holding her by her waist, pulling her backwards and a face resting on her shoulder.
"Ahh.. leave me alone."
"Lili, don't leave me.. please..give me another chance!"
They both talked at the same time.
What does he mean by another chance?
It was clearly me who had asked him for being friends with me.
Now that I am leaving, he's saying I should give him another chance?
Another chance for what?
Lili pushed Aaron and turned to face him.
She opened her mouth numerous times but nothing came out.
Exasperated, she pursed her lips.
But Aaron just stood over there, silently, looking at Lili with pleading expectant eyes like small child would look at his angry mother.
Lili heaved a sigh to which Aaron seemed to be even more alarmed, his eyes growing even more expectant.
Lili couldn't help but smile, nodded her head slightly and turned to leave.
"Are you going to the party?"
When she didn't get a response, and her question seemed to be asked to a sea or a mountain, she slowed down her waking and looked back at Aaron.
All Lili received in return was a blank face which compelled her to cease her motion.
-
What the hell am I doing?
I had clearly decided to treat her badly so that she stays away from me.
But what am I doing now?
Why am I whining for a second chance?
And.. second chance for what?
So that she believes me once again and loves me once again?
But what I actually want is the exact opposite.
"Hello Mr. Jenson, I am talking to you!"
Lili waved her palm in front of his eyes which snapped Aaron back to the reality.
"What.. were you saying?"
Aaron barely whispered while blinking his eyes.
Lili blushed inwardly.
"Are you going to the party which is organised for us, the 'Fresher's Welcome Party'?"
"Umm..no..
I mean.. I think I... won't. You?"
Lili: "I think I will. Though generally I am not very fond of parties, but I think I'd go in this one."
Aaron: "Why aren't you fond of parties and why exactly do you wanna go in this?"
As far as Aaron remembers.. Eva was quite friendly and eloquent, so why would she avoid parties in this life?
And if she does avoid parties generally, why would she go in this one?
Lili: "I don't get along with people.. either they don't understand me, or I don't understand them, whatever it is, folks generally like to stay away from me and..vice versa. So rather, rather I stay on my own. For your second question, I too don't know the exact answer but I feel it would nice to be in the party"
As if I would say you the real reason which is to get you in it and spend time with you, though it is totally abnormal for me to try to be friends with someone.
Lili chuckled to herself as she resumed her walk towards the school.
Aaron quickly caught up with her and walked side by side with her.
So this is Eva now, silent and desolate, probably because of the sorrows of her last life.
Aaron lowered his eyes in pain.
"You should try it too you know".
Lili's serious yet happy voice only heightened his pain.
"Try what?", said Aaron.
"The party", replied Lili.
Say yes , say yes.. please.
Lili crossed her fingers instinctively.
Aaron seemed to have noticed that and his lips broke into a soft smile.
"I will think about it.", said Aaron.
Thank God.
At least I could change the "No.. I think, I won't" to "I will think about it"!
Lili's heart fluttered in excitement as she anticipated the party to be held on that weekend.
