[Zhang Wei] Sitting on the ground of my cold cell I could only regret my actions. Not only had I rashly acted in anger, but I had done something that could come back to hurt Quo. Although it was true that Quo had been hurt by Delano's actions, she would be more hurt by mine.
'If only that villain Delano would have killed himself instead, it would have saved me so much, and Quo wouldn't have been hurt'
Of course that wish was unrealistic and never could have actually happened. As with the rest of the ship, the prison block also had a day and night system, yet no one but her was there to enjoy it. 'The first prisoner in Gray Surge, the first criminal…'
This was a title that wasn't good to be remembered by but it seemed to be my destiny. The night section of the cycle was slowly transitioning to day, as the lights dimly began to provide light. Once again this showed me that I was alone as the long empty hallway slowly lit up. A hundred cells empty, but just like mine.
It was about an hour later when I heard the door at the end of the cell block open, it was Jaku. He brought with him a plate of typical looking prison food, so just the ship cafeteria food. "Here you go, I know it's not much but this is what we have." He had a somewhat sad expression on his face as he handed me the food. Before I could ask him about it he started to leave. "Visiting hours start at nine o'clock so Quo will probably visit you." He turned back around for a moment with a cherry smile now, "Bye!"
This short interaction both relieved and worried me. At the very least I would be able to see Quo soon.
The food that Jaku brought me from the cafeteria was bland and disgusting, it wanted to fall right out of my mouth. Still food was food, although not as good as any made by Quo. This food lacked the warmth and love put into every meal, as well as any decent tasting ingredients.
After I ate my mush of a meal, I went back to pondering what would happen to me. Although the interaction with Jaku brought the happiness of visiting hours to my attention, as well as food, his solemn expression had concerned me. Just what was happening on the other side of that door? What was going on? I fell asleep on the hard cell floor as I wondered about these things.
"Zhang… Zhang…" Quo's melodic voice called out to me. "Zhang darling, wake up now." Quo… Wait Quo was here?
With that realization, I quickly picked myself up. I sat up slightly to fast. "Quo…" I reached out through the bars and hugged her, breaking into tears. "Quo <snff> I'm sorry <snff>..." The tears flowed down my face while she held me.
There was a sadness in Quo's eyes. "It's okay… it's okay…" we held each other tight.
