章節 13: Puppy eyes...
Tip toeing my way through the secret passage that led to a hidden garden of Wolf Hall I prayed for the pups to be as discrete wolf pups can be until it was safe for us to be seen or just not be seen at all would be great too.
You are going to get an earful Skyrielle!!! WOLF PUPS!!! They'll think you've finally lost it; the wallflower of Wolf Hall took wolf pups in... They will never leave me alone once the others hear this... But well they are all alone I'll just have to hope the puppy eyes work their magic while begging on my knees. Sound like a lousy plan, so much for being smart. I had to shake my head to try to stop my sassy comments from changing my mind.
I entered the kitchen though the back door looked for the old huge washbasin that's used to wash the table cloth by hand, and headed for the stables where there is an empty stall. I'll just make it their home till I built something.
This clearly will have to do as a bathtub for the pups the cook will give me a good scolding later but since i overheard she's been wanting to change the old washbasin anyway she should be thanking me.
After cleaning them and getting drenched with soapy water; they were all so pretty, with their soft white silvery tipped fur. As if sensing that i was about to leave they all gang up against me giving me their most sad expression.
Aarrrrhhh i can't leave them here that would be too cruel after what they've been through. Maybe.. just for tonight they could sleep... in my... room.
"That's playing dirty you all know I'm not the one that will decide if you will stay or not keep that look for them."
I went to look for a huge basket that is used to carry apples during the harvest season. Carefully i placed each one of them in it and carried it back to my room.
Pfft... God... Looks like i should review my work out sessions. I'm totally out of shape.
"Good night, sleep tight and behave yourselves." I said to the pups once i finished showering. "Tomorrow's a big day for us all."
We will all be eventually fighting for our own survival after all...
