Ririna eased her foot at the gas pedal of her car as she tried to drive carefully on this unfamiliar road. It was already past midnight, and it was too dark. The thick woods that loomed over on each side of the road didn't help improve the ambiance of the place. She told herself to focus and be aware of her surroundings.
With Aoi sitting on her passenger seat, she really didn't have to worry much being alone for tonight. But hell, she was so sure that Eli would be mad at her once he found out about this. She just hoped that he would listen to her, but hey—she wasn't the one who didn't listen to him in the first place.
There were no street lights on the road, and she had not seen a house or another car ever since they left New Global City. The sense of being alone was unnerving, but at least she had someone to accompany her. Aoi was taking a nap beside her, with his legs propped up on the dashboard. Ririna gritted her teeth and want to smack his face for messing with her car.
