After going through the comments, I think I should clarify a few points. First of all, it is a fact that almost all Asian parents would get involved in their children's dating lives, I think that is because the Eastern Societies value families and group identity a bit more than individualism. Although it is turning around, it is still somewhat affecting how people behave. Second of all, the situation with Class President is tricky since she was torn between Hao Ren and 'Little Older Brother'. Although they were the same person in reality, I guess it does seem like she picked the identity of 'Little Older Brother' over Hao Ren. We just got to lay back and watch how the rest of the story unfolds. One thing to keep in mind is that this story isn't a 'thriller novel' where everything is smooth for the MC. If you put yourself in some of the characters' shoes, it would make more sense.
P.S. Also, the last paragraph in Chapter 141 where it used the word 'ditch'...... It was just a famous poem, so it wasn't like the Class President was saying that the Lu sisters were trash.
