章節 3: Chapter 3
It's been two hours since school closed,not a single soul present except for three students hiding in the library with all windows closed and only a touch to assist them as they flip through piles of books
"Hey guys I think I have found it"Jace called the attention of the girls .
"Let's see" Loveth and Chris said
They both gathered around him trying to poke their face in the book to see what he was talking about.
"Here it states that on the fifth night of every fourth month, the spirits of the forsaken are let loose from Gorham where they roam the earth for 24hours and take a soul with them to plead to Demora ___"
"Well.... plead for what?" Chris asked anxiously
"Uhm... I don't know ,the page is thorn and it's a really old book so ..." Jace replied nervously
"Urgh, this is not enough "Chris replied pacing around
"No! It is.... at least for now" Loveth replied in thought.
"It says 'the spirit of the forsaken',do we know who those are?" Loveth asked looking at both of her friends.
"Well .....I read somewhere that, they are the lost evil dead souls ,whose deeds has no chamber to be stored in, so they are punished endlessly and roam hell for eternity in pain.." Chris replied still trying to remember more .
"Hmm.. and it says they are let out on the fifth day of the fourth month,when is that?" Loveth asked again
Jace quickly brought out his phone to check the date "It's April.....the fifth day of April"
"Does that particular date have any significance?" He asked
"Am not sure...it should have since the book says it's only on that day they are let out" Loveth replied pacing around frantically.
"But why let out a soul as evil as that?" Chris asked
"For redemption??" Jace replied shrugging him shoulders
"Redemption in hell? ...by what capturing innocent souls and making them take their place?" Chris asked with so much sacarsm dripping out
"Wait!that's it, that's the added information the book was missing,they plead to Demora which is the devil so that they can trade places, the innocent souls takes their place and them they are free..." Loveth came to the realization of what she just said in shock
"Could it be th...." Jace couldn't finish what he was about to say due to fear of it being real
"It can't be, demons or the forsaken whatever can't roam earth, it will cause an imbalance if they are spotted" Chris said dismissing the thought.
"I mean, it's possible, what if since the forsaken can be let out, then other higher demons can also be let out of hell or whatever it's called and live among us but we don't know" Loveth said with so much conviction.
"What does this have to do with my dad's disappearance?" Chris asked angrily
"During the summer holiday Jace and I found out that, that thing you saw is called a portal Chris,a portal from hell which is Gorham and the 5mins blackout, is not an eclipse but a sign of demons being on the loose or landing on Earth" Loveth said holding the shaking hands of Chris
"So..so.. that means what I saw was real?"Chris asked stuttering
"Yes! It was"Loveth replied with a smile
"Sorry to cut this sobering time short but I just realized something flipping through my phone that the fifth day of April, is also Chris birthday...." Jace said swallowing a lump nervously
"The day ..i-it all happened" Loveth said
"My birthday.." Chris concluded
"Is this just a coincidence or is their something else we are missing here" Jace asked frightfully.
"I d-dont know,all I am sure of now is that who ever took Chris father has to be the forsaken,that's why they took him, to save and replace their spot" Loveth replied feeling nauseous all of a sudden
"W-wait but don't they have to replace the person's soul on Earth, m-my dad was never found"Chris replied looking at the scared faces of her friends with wide eyes
"I don't understand this either!" Loveth said frustrated.
"Let's just go home,sleep on it, cause am getting creeped out the more we talk about this"Jace said looking around the room fearfully.
"Me too!" Chris replied
They all stood up and packed the books, taking the one's Jace and Loveth came with and leaving the rest in the history department of the library.
Sneekly, they ran out of the room down to the hallway not knowing someone or something has been watching them from the beginning.
They left the school building and made it to jace's car .
"Woah! that was quite the run" Jace said chuckling
"Let's just go" Loveth replied
Jace drove off ,and dropped Loveth at her home first before dropping Chris and left.

Chris took off her shoes on the front door, so as not to grab the attention of her mother. She pushed the door slightly and squeezed her way in , trying to run up the stairs when the light bulb was turned on and she saw her mother sitting on the couch with a cup of tea in her hand.
"And where have you been ?" Her mother asked glaring at her
"Ummmm... school?" Chris replied
"School by 6pm" her mother said not tearing her gaze away from her
"I will ask again Christiana Zac, where. are. you. coming .from??" Her mother asked calmly but her eyes radiated more.
"J.jace house,w-we ummm.... had a project to do together" Chris replied nervously
"And you didn't think of calling me to inform me that you will be out late?" She asked
"Am sorry Mom"Chris replied with her head down
"It's okay!" Her mother replied getting up from the couch and making her way to the stairs
"Wait mum ,do you umm.. do know anything about Gorham, or the...." Chris wasn't able to complete her statement due to the sound of her mother's glass falling from her hand.
"Are you ok mum?" She asked worriedly while picking the shattered glass of her mom's favorite mug
"Am fine, um... am a bit tired, go to bed Chris but before that your dinner is in the kitchen" she said and hurriedly climbed the stairs .
Chris stood in silence not understanding what just happened .
She went to the kitchen, ate her dinner and had her bath.
Wiping her body clean in the mirror she couldn't help but look at her reflection.
Dark swollen eyes stared at her with her red curly hair and small rounded body.
"You look so pitiful" she said spitefully at her self and left the bathroom , making her way to her bed where she slept off with thoughts of her father on her mind....
