I still feel the monetary adjustment is off a single blade of that quality should take around 2000 years to grow and if 1000 annual salary the price should be about 2 million. As noble as this character appears for his loyalty he is so selfish he can't see past his nose. He ignores the people he is meant to protect, destroys the land, and wastes resources. The worst part of this is if he was just a selfish person who wished to see gain for himself his actions could be considered somewhat competent by his own limited knowledge of the situation, but no this guy is taking the going down with the ship and bringing as many people as he can method. When I first read this I thought "wow this guy is so honorable, not even giving up in the face of certain defeat" I realize now this is not honor this is not even pride, this is just blind stubbornness to see reality. The saddest part is that the world is filled with people like this
