After the written exam ended, the students were granted a recess before the start of the practical exams. In the lunchroom, Tyson and Eric were joined by Sophia, who had also completed her second-year written tests. "So, Tyson, how well do you think you did?" Sophia inquired. Tyson responded, "Not sure, but I definitely passed," prompting a groan of disappointment from Eric, who was sitting beside them. Having spent the past few weeks playing Poke Legends again, Eric felt confident about passing at best. Aiming for a high score on the exam was, for him, an unattainable dream. The participants of the practical exam would have their final score determined by averaging their written and practical exam scores.

A loud boom echoed from above, capturing the attention of Sayer and the onlookers. As everyone's gaze shifted skyward, they witnessed Pupitar plummeting down. "Dodge it!" Sayer yelled, but Pupitar, empowered by its Dragon Dance, was too swift. With a resounding crash, Pupitar collided with Druddigon's head, a cloak of brown energy enveloping its lower body, driving Druddigon into the earth, kicking up a cloud of dust around them. As the dust settled, it uncovered Druddigon lying unconscious, marred with bruises and cuts. Many of its scales were fractured and had come loose, leaving it bloodied and battered.

As Gligar hovered in the air, Pupitar unleashed another compressed air blast, propelling it upward toward the soaring Gligar. 'It's maneuverability in the air is limited...what's your strategy, Pupitar?' Tyson wondered. As though in response to his question, Pupitar released another powerful gust of air, boosting its speed. 'It's using its vents to fly?!' Tyson marveled, watching intently. Despite considering this possibility during their preparations for Larvitar's evolution, he hadn't anticipated Pupitar would try it so quickly.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Tyson and Bertha who had returned from counsel duties wrapped up another session of training. Over the month, Larvitar's sandstorm had grown to an impressive 60 meters, and it was now honing its ability to control both the sandstorm's flow and size, guided by Bertha's Hippowdon. Meanwhile, Gligar had perfected her ability Sand Veil and was learning the move Toxic from Bertha's Gliscor. In the midst of training, Larvitar began to tremble, and a brilliant light burst forth from its form. Tyson, observing the luminous Larvitar, smiled, sensing the moment had arrived. As the light intensified, Larvitar's stature increased from three feet six inches to a formidable four feet six inches. Its armor thickened, enveloping its limbs and adopting a blue tint, while a mask-like plate with four prominent spikes now adorned the upper part of its body. When the light finally receded, the creature roared, signaling the end of its transformation. Tyson approached the newly evolved Pupitar, now nearly his own height, and looking into its eyes, he declared, "Congratulations, partner. I'm counting on you from here on out, Pupitar."

Upon arriving home, Tyson greeted his grandparents and then proceeded to the backyard. After releasing him from his Pokeball Tyson observed Larvitar, noting his increased size. Previously, Larvitar had measured two feet seven inches tall, but now it stood at an impressive three feet six inches, nearly twice the size of an average Larvitar. "Well buddy, it seems the training and the diet of high-ranked Hard Stones are paying off," Tyson remarked, pleased with Larvitar's growth. "But we can't celebrate yet, we need to continue practicing your sandstorm and then we'll work on Dragon Dance and stamina training for the rest of the day," he added, receiving an affirmative nod from Larvitar.
