She actually can see rock in the air that how she knows to dodge thing in the air it showed in the show against the fire nation earth bender and in the comic.

Toph narrowed her eyes as she stopped feeling where Fei was. Her only weakness is that she can't sense things from the air. She needs vibrations to see.

I’m pretty sure most American vehicles are too big for Japan streets America vehicles are quite large width but I’m also sure that they probably fix that issue for foreign roads but you might want to consider more Japanese brands over America ones like Mitsubishi ,Nissan, and Toyota
