Seriously, this is such a shitty move. I wouldn't say I liked it one bit. You are already taking resources from the North to kick-start the Industrial Revolution, which I can understand because only the most developed cities can afford it. But farms are the livelihood of so many people and you are directly sidelining them from the economy to benefit people who are already rich. The Southern part is surrounded by sea, so it is helpful for their trade. But the Northern side has only fertile land to contribute to the economy which also you are giving away to the people of the South. It's a similar scenario of a country exploiting another country. Mind you at that time, agriculture was the only mode for these people to earn money.
