I was going to say that he may understand the monkey, like chopper would but I take that back. The only reason chopper is able to understand animals is because he was an animal who gained human intelligence, through the Hito-Hito no mi.
Two days quickly passed. In this time, Bardock had gotten to know everyone on board, including an actual monkey. Beyond the characters he knew from the manga, he had also met some new faces. The most interesting discovery was meeting Shanks' adopted daughter, Uta—the future superstar singer.

Also.. I mean atleast dive deeper into some stuff. e.g, his cooking experience.. Did he know how to cook this well before hand or did he just become amazing at cookijg during his training. Last bit, some stuff feels too forced. e.g, His introduction to the Red Hair Pirates is too cheerful- in a sense. Like why would they just act so trusting after the mc said a couple words. Like I get that they are not your typical pirate group but, in the One Piece world, betrayals or some stuff like that happen. I mean have you seen blackbeard? 😭 No hate though, all love.
Bit of a dodgy start. If he wants to learn haki, just join his crew? Or just bugger off and find a way to train, seeing the mc know’s a lot about the one piece world he should just use that knowledge to do so..
Common sense from just being on the ship. From reading this chapter, I imagine a tiny time skip happened (from entering the ship to eating bbq). So there’s that.
"Haha, Shanks, I'm only 8 years old. I'll have to think about it."

Most likely. But why would he do something so stupid 🥱😅
Bardock thought, Should I tell them that Shanks is actually a Celestial Dragon child adopted by Roger from God Valley in the West Blue?

‘nearly 1.7m’ He’s between 5’6 and 5’7. But seeing as ‘nearly’ is said, hes probably closer to 5’7.
Bardock was now nearly 1.7 meters tall and looked strong and muscular after six months of training. If his parents were still alive, they'd probably boast, "Our son has the potential of an admiral."

But from the MC’s pov, shanks is an emperor regardless.
As the distance closed, Bardock finally got a clear look at the ship. It was a pirate ship, and not just any pirate ship, but one that Bardock recognized. The sail bore the image of a grinning skull, with three scars over its left eye and two crossed swords behind it. This was none other than the ship of the soon-to-be infamous Emperor of the Sea, Red-Haired Shanks. They appeared to be hosting a banquet once again.

Ikr. Pretty sure he became an emperor 4 years before luffy set sail.

now that’s funny i can’t lie
Garp honestly could not believe that he possessed 10 of the most powerful Devil Fruits in his original world, with every single one of them being possessed by a prominent Pirate or Marine in his world.

Okay that is weird. Seeing as they are both kids (atleast physically), the others may just brush this off as a joke but the mc’s mentality is not a childs mentality.
One time, Bardock got so entranced by her singing that, without thinking, he blurted out, "Uta, I want to have a baby monkey with you!"
