And no I wasn't flexing for something I learnt 2 years ago in 10th grade, if I am going to explain something like that, I thought I would try to explain it fully or partially. I hate it when teachers "leave the explanation for next year" or something. It would also save you from googling or something so sorry. I think his parents and family call him 'Dav', while his actual name is 'David'. 'Dav' could just be his nickname and he got so used to being called that he refers to himself as 'Dav'. For example: Jess for Jesse, Jessie or Jessica; Tom for Thomas; etc.
Although it wasn't a secret that ingesting the catalyst regularly and annually from the age of 5 would reduce the risk of dying from the pain by about 30 percent depending on the amount taken through out the years making it very expensive for those who aren't wealthy impossible to acquire it repeatedly. Even Dave only had the diluted form of the serum 3 times since his family weren't all that well off.
