I don't really think they should be real romances. More of the MC corrupts and manipulates the emotions of others to fit his desires. Part of the Miraculous Ladybug's theme is the corruption of people's emotions, and as a villain, I think it would be an interesting direction for him. Plus, It's more fun, in my opinion.
