Ian was pretty exhausted just by trying to make Mason agree to his idea. After all, he had no other option, but to convince him because he had no connections within the industry. It took him two days to finally get an "okay" from Uncle Mason.

All the previous shareholders sold their shares to Henrey Renner due to the losses they were facing, but Mason couldn't do it because of the effort and faith he had, along with the little hope which remained in him about the studio's prospering future.

Well i dont want to make it complicated but if the company is public, which I assume it isnt, then he basically is part of the board giving him voting power to sell the company if he can find a buyer, also look at the other shareholder
A sigh left Mason's lips signaling he was understanding what Ian was trying to say. But in his mind, he wanted to know what exactly Ian really wants to do. Mason was highly sceptical about the whole idea of Ian working for the studios. Taking a few moments to himself, he decided to continue the conversation.
