Why are they so obsessed with the rankings? Especially, when he has always shown able to be a reliable asset in every team battle ever participated with them. At this point of time, the whole group should be aware he is always holding back when it comes to the ranking system. Like their head must be filled up with only rocks to not notice obvious discrepancy, and being mysterious should put an even bigger spotlight on it.
Freya watched the exchange, bewildered. 'Was this really the same Jett she knew? How could he possibly win such a tournament? He wasn't even in the top 20.'

The only problem I got with this story. Most of these characters can't think outside of the box without Jett. Like using light magic against evil creatures. Any decent gamer should be aware that it may work as a possible lethal attack. Even the freaking lore in many games may detail using light magic to affect the dark attribute in a negative way. Also, someone scared to death was bound to accidentally blast light magic against some evil creature in this world. It doesn't make any sense why no one is aware of such a thing at all. Did the demons use a planetside memory wipe, or immediately kill everyone about their weakness? Wait, can a demon even be healed at all with light magic? I just feel like you're making these characters unreasonably dumb to make Jett look cool.
Got that backwards there. They confronted a single person minding his own business, and decided to attack him first. The best part was that someone tried to defuse the situation, but flat out ignored him completely. As far as anyone knows the academy may have got assassin personnel doing their jobs at night. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if most noble families have such people doing the very same thing.

Well, depends on how much love they pour into the game's storyline. One could find a variety of secrets about ancient artifacts, and crucial historic moments possibly giving out subtle hints. It could become related to problems caused by nobles of more than a singular kingdom causing a bunch of friction. Just one problem this is actually a trial. Not a proper quest line. Unless, this trial portrays a distant historic moment.
