I feel like Sanders just actually escaping as fast as possible would put Marines in a scarier situation since no one but Kizaru can catch him in the world. They wouldn't know his strength and maybe even underestimating him because they would see it as a hail mary escape instead of a power walk throughout Impel Down.
If he were in Sanders' position, he would have escaped as quickly as possible using his speed, rather than bulldozing through everything like Sanders did.
