If kurenai is testing them based on their combat ability this time then she likely would've done the same test that Guy did in the original, a direct sparring match to grasp their strengths. However, kurenai's team is still biased towards being a sensory/tracking team, as such she is still likely to carry out the same test of hiding and having her students locate her real body within a given time limit.

If i recall correctly there are two times when Sasuke bites her in the show and manga where he doesn't draw any blood, only one time does he draw blood and in the brief flash backs do we see i think at least two bites that draw blood. i can't recall if there were other scenes where we see blood drawn.
