Not only was I a Bio major, I had to go teach in Imphal, a matchbox sized town bordering Montana. Somehow, I feel like Edward Cullen hightailing out of the city so the sun doesn't scorch his ass, but unlike Forks from Twilight with its population of 3,120 people, Imphal's population ranges between a bare minimum of 1,300 to 1,800 people. Not to mention there wasn't even an airport or railway station in sight.
"Why would you risk your heart for someone you cannot have?"
"Because I cannot choose who I love, father. My heart chose her, and I had been blind ever since."
"First love is always the hardest. Move on from the girl, my son. I'm sure there's plenty out there as beautiful as she is. I'll scour the entire nation for the most beautiful girls if I have to."
Third prince Julong gripped his fists tight to his sides. "You don't understand, it's not about her vanity. I felt it, there's a click between us and I knew she felt it too. It is as if my soul had been awakened for the first time when I saw her."
"I believe that is what you call love at first sight. You're young, all this shall pass."
Ling-ling was struggling financially when a proposition too good to pass fell on her lap. It is a proposal to marry someone. The dowry is big and the family is one of the richest in town.
The contract guaranteed her financial security, not only for her, but for her entire family. But, there's a catch and it's a catch that would make her think otherwise. Her groom to be died six months ago from a car accident, so, this means she'll enter a marriage without a husband...or...will she?
That's enough." He said. "Let her go!" His voice came sharp as steel and in command.
The man let go and I almost fell on my knees, weakened from days of starvation and caged in the storage. I looked at him uncertain what to do or think.
The mysterious man observed me for a few seconds then strode over to his horse, fetching a flask of water. He loosened the lid and handed it to me.
I snatched it from his hand like a feral animal and drank and drank until the last drop of water fell in my mouth. I was thirsty and dying, I couldn't get enough drink of water.
He offered me spiced rice ball next and I consumed every bit of it in front of him without feeling any shame or reserved daintiness. I didn't care, I was hungry. I could care less whether I looked like a starving animal or a woman.
Once I'm done, he merely groaned and said..."Let's go."
I understood right then that I was just sold to a new master, and he is now my new owner.
My new owner mounted on his horse, I expected to walk while he rode when he offered me his hand to help lift me up behind him.
His gesture surprised me, and I jerked at the sight of his wide palm, thinking he was going to hurt me. "Don't be scared." He murmured, his voice is a gentle wave of softness. "I will not hurt you like your previous masters
There's a tale of a fox who used to roam around our village. They said it would take a form of a beautiful woman and seduce men. And sometimes, it would take a form of a man and seduce women.
That would explain all the disappearances in our village and all the villages nearby. There were always people missing never to be seen again. People blamed the demon fox spirit. They warned everyone not to go to the forest at night and never go anywhere alone. They especially warned not to trust a beautiful person who tries to lure them alone.
this somehow made me laugh 🤣
