Naive or utilitarian, this argument is as true as it is poisonous. Westeros is a state that is only marginally centralized; in practical terms, the commitment of the component houses extends only to paying taxes and providing armies in case of war. Corlys does not need to become an "enemy" to terribly sabotage the economy of Westeros, he would never be an an "enemy", he is no idiot. Think about it: Westeros is not an empire; it is a pseudo-feudal state with a weak and complacent monarch. Corlys could easily abandons his position as master of ships and arranges a marriage with some daughter of a magister of the triarchy for his son. The marriage takes place and overnight the crab guy no longer attacks driftmark-colored sail ships. Note that he can simply arrange a unilateral agreement with the triarchy that involves money or some commodity, not necessarily marriage. The rational way out of this impasse would be for Aenys to marry Laenna, a situation in which all parties benefit. In this case, Viserys marrying Alicent would be much less controversial. I understand, however, that this protagonist is much more emotional than rational, as is Viserys, but in a different, more subtle way.

And that made Otto scoff, the disdain in his tone unmistakable. "Enemies? The Velaryons should remember their station,— House Targaryen's supremacy stands leagues above theirs. If they were to become an 'enemy' over a declined marriage proposal, they would prove themselves unworthy of their current position."

I dont know what he is using, but i want it.

He waited in the council chamber and wondered about all that had happened and what would happen. 'Last night, he was informed of Daemon's dismissal and banishment to the Vale. The King didn't send his daughter away when she visited him. A good start. All he needed was for her to gain the King's affection. So his daughter would be queen, and if everything went well, a son, a true heir for the Throne. A true Andal King, one with Hightower blood and loyal to the faith.

One of those very rare instances when the haren way, is the only way.

Viserys looked at them, nodding. "I understand, but this way, Aemma's legacy is protected. I have seen how you care for my daughter. There is no one I would place more trust in to care for her than you. As for Laena, I'm taking a page out of the book of conquerors, and because of Jaehaerys, there is the doctrine of exceptionalism." His brother said, his voice low.

As far as I know, technically dragon blood is invulnerable against bacteria, wouldn't it be possible to simply open the belly, remove the appendix and close it up without any problems? It's not like infection is a problem for a bonded dragon prince.

Its amazing, Leo is a kid, a dedicated, disciplined, full of focus one. But he cant really understand essencial concepts of human reasoning or even understand human value beyond greed, pride and, to a certain extent, lust. Just like an immature teen, a very edgy one, self absorbed in his created persona. Its so funny.

"But this is a game brother…isn't the end goal to buy nice items, become powerful and gain levels?

This is the strength of this novel and the main reason to read and enjoy it, that is, village politics. I usually see myself just skimming over the fights, getting to the beginning, the fellas involved and the end. It's not that the fights are bad, they are fine, it's just that having been exposed to other works that deal much better with the theme, this one ends up leaving something to be desired, the power scalling is also not amazing.

The harem that never was

"You have to be the single dumbest, yet brilliant man I have ever met in my life, did you know that? Were you even the slightest bit aware of how I? How we all felt throughout all these years? I mean it was abundantly clear to your wife… But I don't think you ever really figured it out, did you?"
