Good points: * The universe and worldbuilding are both really good. The Origin Expanse, how it functions, and distributes power works well and creates a fascinating growth dynamic. * The soultraits are expansive and thorough. They have endless possibilities that the author doesn't shy away from utilizing. * The story has SOME intrigue in the form of "mysteries". * The story is written in coherent English, so everyone can easily read it without problem. Bad points: * Although the writing is coherent, it is also an abominable experience to force yourself through. Something that becomes prevalent extremely quickly is the author's overuse of capital letters in words that never should be capitalized. Obviously, this is a minor issue, but it's part of a bigger problem: names of people, races, and powers. The names are not bad, but in every paragraph of say three-four sentences, the same name will be mentioned between two-five times. It makes reading the story strenuous because it restricts the natural flow of things. Where optimally you would mention the name of a person and use "he" or "she", or something similar to refer to them after, the author almost never does that. It is alright in small doses, but can become taxing after a while. Also, this is mostly a conspiracy on my part, but I'm fairly certain there is at least some level of AI being used in grammar "correction" and editing. I think that is one of the reasons everything is capitalized all the time, so that the software knows not to mess with those words. Something I noticed after chapter 450ish, was that certain sentences started looking weird. They didn't sound right, and the reason behind it was that commonly used words were replaced with their incorrect synonyms. "Like", as in "seems like", could become "appreciate". This is just one of many examples. Of course it doesn't have to be AI, the author could have looked up a thesaurus to spice up the webnovel's vocabulary, but it really appears to me that he just asked a chatbot to "replace overused words with synonyms." * The characters are overall really bad. I don't have any major complaints about them because they're all overshadowed by my complaints for the MC. The author is trying really hard to portray the MC as some intelligent savant who towers above all his stupid peers, while this couldn't be farther from the truth. Michael Fang is an unfathomable idiot who's actions, emotions, and overall character makes not a trace of sense. He doesn't consider the consequences of his actions, acts on his emotions when there is no explainable reason for it, and tries to justify his mistakes by blaming everything but himself. When he goes through something traumatic (I won't spoil it), he becomes devastated for weeks. He "stared emptily at the hospital ceiling for three weeks, without eating or drinking," or something to that affect (it's far from verbatim, but captures the essence.) He was shattered completely, which isn't unreasonable considering what happened. I think it's way out of character, but that's besides the point. After he "recovered" physically and was released, Michael entered the Origin Expance, and whoops, a few hours later, he was as good as new. The author digs himself into holes he doesn't know how to get out of naturally, so just pulls some nonsense out of his ass. This happens multiple times, and is increasingly frustrating to read. The final straw for me to write this incredibly long review was the MC’s actions regarding his "secrets". Some things were bound to come out, and it's a decent enough plot point that can't be hated on too much. Where my critique comes in is how easily and effortlessly the MC reveals all his hidden cards, because "they already know." NO! They don't know! Some can guess, but they don't know. He also, again without thinking about consequences, tells a whole room full of people he doesn't know or trust about his location in the Origin Expance. Like bitch, people can easily get you in there! You might be protected in the outside world to a certain extent, but everything is fair game there. The point is, very few of his actions are reasonable or remotely logical. * Final complaint is the plot points. They are almost all cheap and predictable, often spurred by the MC's stupidity, arrogance, or some other nonsense. Conclusion: Despite all it's massive flaws, I've had a great time reading it. It's been frustrating for sure, but all the interesting aspects of the story keep pulling me back inn when I think about quitting. I would recommend reading it in batches though and not binge too much, because the story sours really quickly.

Potential for a good face slapping story, if done correctly! The mc is overpowered af, and the story can play on how his emotions and mind develop, making it more interesting. Worth a read.

You're gonna need to pace it differently, introduce higher dimensions or new restrictions to be able to write more. At this rate, in at most 100 chapters, no new ideas will fit into this story, forcing you to discard it. Valid story and system though. Keep it up!

It is far from being the best, yet also far from being the worst thing on this platform. I'm new to this, so although it won't be amazing, I hope you might give it a shot!

Overall a fun, entertaining novel, however it has its pros and cons. Pros: Interesting system, world characters and development. Cons: writing cuality, inaccurate information at times, ilogical reasoning.

  • Intemporal original

    Intemporal

Fantasy ADVENTURE OVERPOWERED CULTIVATION ANTIHERO FASTPACED FACESLAPPING UNPRINCIPLED WIZARDS

In a world of cultivation, martial arts, and magic, having power is the only way to survive. However, power is not something that anyone can obtain. If you are not talented at birth, there are few things one can do to overcome it. Most are destined to life and die in poor obscurity. Fillan Strand was born to live like this. With talent unlike anything the world had ever seen, talent so foul even the most stoic of masters would laugh at him, Fillan could never amount to anything in his life. Luckily for him, he's got countless of them. What to expect: Time-Loop Cultivation Body Tempering (arguably just cultivation, only a bit different.) Magic Quite fast-paced (the start will be a little slower to introduce stuff.)
