I mean, you don't need to be an ornithologist to know you don't mess with chickens, so why would you need to be a marinologist-nope! that sounds like a scientist who studies marinades! - marine biologist to know that you don't mess with shark-jousting, gang-r***ng dolphins? They're not quite orca evil, but they're getting there.
The problem weren't the stats, though, they were very powerful as well. The main issue was that Sylas wasn't a marine biologist, and he also wasn't aware that dolphins were extremely social creatures that lived in pods of up to… 100.

After those six Strength Genes, he had improved again. He had noticed a noticeable decrease in improvement speed after he reached the double F Grades. But this blew right by that.

Every time the author has used "Madness", even though I know it refers to "Insanity", or more like "Inspiration of the Insane" or "Crazy Genius", some part of my brain somewhere, without fail, whispers "he's an Angry Scientist! His name is Angora, the Angry Scientist!" and I have to spend a couple seconds to try and stop myself from giggling.
The problem wasn't actually the training. In fact, Sylas' progress was shockingly fast, in one part due to his high Wisdom and another part due to <Madness Control> having reached Legendary Mastery thanks to Madness.

Did...he not just last chapter put the Basilisk King back into the hibernation zone? Did I miss Sylas pulling his massive snake out again?
Sylas was able to keep the boat afloat just like this without slowing down the Basilisk King for another hour, and by this point, they had made great progress. But it unfortunately seemed like something would always go wrong when Sylas was involved.

I shall not pretend to understand the importance of a breakthrough(largely as my only gauge is based off of Gracie, from The Nanny), but I figure it's probably a good thing, so 🥳 happy for you! may there be as many more as are needed for your mental health to improve, but only as frequently as you are able to handle without the emotional turbulence driving you too much past mild/minimum mental fatigue. In other words, may your progress be constant and cumulative. And, perhaps, less life-and-death, do-or-die than Rhishi's breakthroughs? ^_^ And good chapter. Glad to see how quickly Rhishi was reminded of why the sisters shouldn't have evoked quite as much near-positive emotion as they did, lol.
So you're saying that someone can just spontaneously create gunpowder without knowing how to refine, distill, purify and safely react the substances that go into its production? How about knowing which materials are not and cannot be strong enough to be used to contain and direct the pressure produced by a gunshot, and those materials which are or can be made so? Because that is chemical technology. Arguably, just knowing that baking soda and vinegar react to create carbon dioxide and a couple other substances(I think water and salt?) is chemistry, technically, and the activity of reacting the two is chemical engineering, but that knowledge is a technology. A technique based on an understanding of how the world works that has been tested and retested for accuracy. One does not need electronics for technology to be a thing. Before humans even discovered that electricity could be channeled and used and even produced without requiring a lightning bolt there was technology. A water wheel or windmill are perfect example of mechanical technologies. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that technology is only ever anything that uses batteries or plugs into a wall. It is FAR more expansive than that.
