I started reading post change, so I am not sure what it was like before. However, in it's current form I think the story reads quite well and is very interesting.

At a high-level this is a reincarnation 2nd chance story. The unique twist, is the MC is actually the bad guy and they have to address the effects of the bad things they did not their homeworld. The setting appears to be roughly Late Roman Empire to Dark Ages (though a lot of the armor is described as Bronze so that throws things off a bit). Also, the MC does do some quasi-uplifting (Waterwheel and Seed Drill {which is tough to classify timewise as it existed in Summer and ancient China but not in Europe til the 18th century} ). The MC is a mage (with a lot of experience making them very OP in all encounters to date), but even Warriors seem to have the ability to enhance themselves with basic magic. World Building is very good ( which is very nice as your are getting 2 different world's background over time). Besides getting info from the Character interactions. You are get some historical/background notes (in the form of history book texts) at the start of a few chapters to help give context and meaning to the situation the world is in.

Is it really a good idea to invite a Miller to Dry City. She is from one of the top families of the Kingdom. So, she could accidently "spill the beans" about Dry City.

Cool, so it looks like some domain building in the next few chapters then off to the Grand Duchy to start the next major arc. I am always a sucker for domain building, so this transition is definitely something I am looking forward to.

The only downside with what is coming. Is I really do not feel any empathy toward the MC. It is known that the MC really hates his brothers, but since the story started after his childhood. As a reader developing a similar level of hatred for George just is not possible. Especially, since he really has not been any sort of villain in the story. Other than short-changing the MC regarding support to the MC's lands. Which did not hamper him based on how things turned out. George really has not done anything.

Didn't Downs already meet Nela during the war? Downs was the one against her plan and I thought they talked at the end of the meeting.

"And this must be Lady Burgess. It is my pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. I have heard many a thing about you, my lady." After having greeted Braydon, Downs did the same for Nela. Whilst she technically did not have a title herself, she was the sole heir to Duke Burgess. Now that Cinar was once again a very important noble nobody could ignore her presence.

I am curious why the MC did not bring up the Red-Headed servant issue. It is very obvious that if this person is important enough to search across Continents they are important enough of cause a national level incident.
