They cleared this up at the first meeting. All those who got in paid, but the amount paid did not determine rank. My theory it's the percentage you paid, so the rich guy who boasted he spent 100k or some nonsense had a low rank but that amount was small to him the main character was number 1 for spending like 20k, which was essentially everything he had. it's merely a theory
He wasn't sure why he was given the Inferno Mage class, nor why he was given a place in the supporters list. Having only played Cataclysm a few times due to how poor his family was, there was no logic to the situation. Or at least no logic that he could identify.

It's unique in ways a struggle to articulate. Weak to strong steady progression that has more power spikes than I'd like but only one that can truly be considered broken and it is...somewhat limited. Great series, author says it has stopped but hope to see more in the future
