ok yes cheaper paper would make spreading knowledge and culture easier but they still have to right by hand which is a very expensive and time consuming process not to mention in the early days of cheaper paper nobles were about the only ones that could afford it or use it cause they were about the only ones that could read and write not to mention it made keeping track of records easier because you didn't have to use animal skin based paper which was limited, expensive, and difficult to write on and make hence why paper became so important and adapted so quickly by the nobility because of its lower price, much more avaliable, and easier to write on making record keeping easier improving the nobles income
