I think the claymore transformation sounds like a dead ringer for Jugos kekkei genkai, literally the origin for the heaven cursed seal if memory serves on a deep lore dive. IE draws in natural energy and transforms body to an inhuman form. Sounds like a reversible awakening to me in kekkei genkai form.
