Plot armor is pretty much the only thing keeping the mc alive from his sheer recklessness and stupidity. First he gives up the gamer system, then he saves Asia without a proper disguise, antagonises the spoilt devil princess (with the overprotective OP Satan siscon brother), recites the holy scripture in front of them (for what just to get a rise out of them) all the while showcasing he's unaffiliated to any faction (despite being fairly strong). Being unaffiliated means unprotected and up for grabs in dxd supernatural world. Means no one will raise an eyebrow if Sirzechs just walks in to his house with his attack dog maid and gives him an ultimatum to either join his sister's peerage or die.
You do realize he could've just spent extra points to rid the system of it's flaws or something like modify it? Why would he sell it without a second thought 🤔? He seems like a spendthrift moron.

Mephisto is too strong for the current mc (in the comics his power is equivalent to Odin or half fed Galactus) adding the fact that they are in his home court / personal dimension (where he is nigh omniscient and omnipotent) his chance of winning is close to zero.
It would make sense as the portal leads to a 'random' location in the multiverse. It would be appear logical that his connection to the Ghost Rider would send him 'home' that would be hell dimension of the Marvel world. I have a sneaking suspicion the 'system' was Michael's original 'cheat' taken away by the Spectre when he reincarnated, it was less 'giving' him power but more so 'returning' due to some unspeakable reason. Cosmic entities in DC are rarely THAT generous.
