Your protagonist isn't a simp BUT he's just SAD. I've seen overconfident mc's, simp mc's, psychotic ones, pathetic ones even; but this guy is just SAD. Never have I seen an MC lacking in self esteem and self worth that he content to be a spectator (stalker) in what could be said his new reality. Just reading about his actions is enough to make one depressed.
