Are you talking about way back in the day like within the first 100 chapters when Ves was designing mech models for training/video games and exlor decided have one of the pilots we are following the perspective of to have them ambush mechs playing a game of cards? No idea otherwise
It didn't matter. Ves felt flattered that he and his clan not only became a part of this popular digital board game, but also became a popular player choice, especially among other mech designers!

Shadow Mushroom Mechs? Very spore based doing things like spreading darkness and maybe infecting things into zombies or making mushroom “fey” drones. First thing that popped up mentally. Definitely a one off and not a new standard.

I thought we found out in the masterwork museums that all masterworks are at a minimum slightly alive. I even remember a few that were close to 2nd order? Am I remembering this wrong?

How would the Mechers regulate masterwork mechs produced by others since masterworks are naturally living mechs if with weaker living qualities?
Hearing that the Web Mistress wanted the Red Association to regulate living mechs by imposing restrictions on which living mechs were allowed to evolve into third order living mechs was not much better!
