Chương 35: Decision & Moving on
Jake reached his apartment and got inside.
He walked into the living room, but he suddenly noticed someone sitting on the sofa.
"Mom? Why are awake at this hour? "
Julia turned her head to Jake and sighed in relief "I woke up because you weren't beside me, so I became worried and waited for you here."
"Don't worry, I'm fine." Jake said as he went and sat beside her.
"Where were you at this hour? "
"Some business you don't need to know...yet."
"I won't ask further, but you need to make sure you are right."
"Okay, I promise."
They sat beside each other after that without talking and silence dominated the place.
But suddenly Jake broke the silence:
"Since you are awake, there is something I need to tell you, it's very important and may change the relationship we're having now."
"What do you mean by that, dear? You are scaring me." Julia said with nervousness.
"I did something to you that you may hate."
"What is it? "
"Let me ask you this question first. Do you remember your late husband, and what is his name? "
"My late husband? I don't remember having one or know his name? What do you mean by that Jake? " Julia became afraid and worried, her eyes were shaking from fear.
"Then do you know who is your son? "
"M-my son is you, Jake and I'm... your mother." She looked in confusion because in her memories she knew that Jake was her son, but how she became his mother, she didn't know. Maybe she adopted him? , but she didn't remember doing that.
The more she thought, the more confused she became.
"As expected, you don't remember, then let me ask this one last question."
Jake took a deep breath "Do you love me? "
Julia immediately looked at him in the eyes "Absolutely."
Jake smiled warmly "That's good, don't forget that after what I'm about to do."
"What are you going to do, dear? , I don't want anything happen to you, please be beside me." Julia was afraid of something horrible was going to happen to Jake.
Jake didn't respond and put his right hand on her head,He caressed it sweetly, making Julia calm down.
He continued caressing her hair while she closed her eyes, then suddenly his eyes turned grey with hint of pink around his pupils.

In Julia's mind, several memories flowed, making her wince in pain as they flowed at a high speed.
Jake hugged Julia and caressed her back to ease her pain while she hugged him back as the pain increased.
"It hurts, Jake."
"Don't worry, everything will be over soon." Jake said while bitting his lower lip.
Julia remembered everything, from the point she became sane to the point of her marriage, she remembered her late husband, the memory of her first and only son, the beginning of her suffer. Everything! She remembered everything.
Her body started shivering and Jake separated from her and looked to see her reaction, and like what he'd expected.
Tears fell down from her eyes as the memories she lost, had returned.
"How? "
"That happened because of me, it was really unfair to you, but me seeing you in sadness and suffer even if you didn't show it, it made me so sad, so I did what I saw necessary."
"But how could you do that?!! , how could you make forget how I suffered? The sadness I felt? They were the means that helped me to move on in my life, they made me stronger and you came like that and made them disappear?
And we have sex together? How could you do that to me? , you know it's wrong! " she said with a hint of disappointment and anger yet sadness was still there.
"I'm ready to bear the responsibility, I know what I did was so wrong, but because of my selfishness, I made you like this.
I thought that I made you happy. But I was wrong."
Julia didn't say anything and just kept listening. She knew that Jake was sad for her and she was worried about that, but what he did was something she didn't want, she didn't want to forget her sadness and suffer, they were a proof of her being alive.
"Do you remember what I told you before you regained your memories back? "
She thought for a second, then remembered what he said to her. He said "Do you love me? " and she responded "Absolutely." .
She nodded at him.
"This is the last line that connecting both of our hearts, but if you decided to cut it, then everything will be over."
"What do you mean? Jake, are you going to leave me? " she was on verge of bursting out.
"No, how can I leave you when you are the most precious person in my life."
"Then what did you mean by 'everything is over'? "
"I mean everything... everything between us as husband and wife will end here and we will back as a normal pair of son and mother." Jake said with a sad smile.
He really did want that to happen, but it was necessary if he wanted to continue living with her.
"And before you say anything, that doesn't mean that everything happened between us was nothing to me, on the contrary, it was the best thing happened in my life.
I don't remember when I started seeing you as a woman not as a mother, but I don't regret it even bit. It was my decision and I have to live with it."
"I need to have some alone time, too many things happened one after another and I need time to organize."
"You can have as much time as you want, but if you decided to cut it, then it's okay. Although it's sad, but time can heal, right?
Then excuse me."
Jake left and went to his original room, while Julia was left alone sitting on the sofa with so many thoughts in her mind.
'Haaah everything is messed up.' Julia said inwardly while the thoughts kept running in her mind, she needed to make a decision.
In the room.
Jane and Lucy were standing behind the door, they heard everything, but they didn't look disappointed or sad rather she were worried.
"Do you think they will be back together again? " Lucy said to Jane.
"I don't know, only Julia has the right to make that decision and days will prove it But now I'm more worried about darling, must be so hard on him." Jane said with a worried look in her face.
"Although it's hard, but he did the right decision. Furthermore, he is our husband, so he has us beside him."
"You are right, without him, I won't be happy like this and I don't regret my decision of becoming his wife, not even one bit." Jane said with a proud tone.
"Me too, he taught me the feeling of being loved and appreciated, he is so caring and loving that I might drown in his love, but I found a way to counterattack."
"And what is it? "
"Love... I will just love him more than he does, so we can be more connected."
"Fufufufufu... I may do the same. Let's love our husband to the point he drown in our love."
Jane and Lucy were like two sisters who supported each other in difficult times, which was so good as they need this bond to get stronger in the future.
