Chương 4: My Name is Elise

While the green giant approached Winifred, the fear of dying at the giant's hands and the tremendous pain caused by her foot made her lose hope of survival. She accepted the fact that she wasn't going to survive. With that, Winifred started crying.

Knowing that she was about to die and these were her last moments, Winifred began remembering beautiful memories of her past—moments with her mom and dad, and memories of her only friend, Winter.

With an arrogant smile on his face, knowing that his prey couldn't escape, the green giant came closer to Winifred. While she was in pain and crying, lost in her memories, the giant picked up the wooden melee weapon he had thrown earlier. He then got close to her and laid the weapon on her, intending to crush her with it.

While crying and remembering her past, Winifred was waiting for her death. Suddenly, a shockwave hit her.

Winifred: "Ah… ahh…"

She thought the giant had struck her.

Winifred: "What…?"

Realizing it wasn't the giant, Winifred opened her eyes and looked back at him.

As she looked toward the giant, she saw him split in the middle. His massive body started falling in two directions—right and left.

As the giant split apart, Winifred noticed a human figure in the background.

Winifred: "Haa… who is…"

Seeing the enormous green giant split into two was a brutal sight. Blood spilled everywhere, and the scene was horrifying. Winifred, already in shock and pain, couldn't handle the intensity of it all. Having lost too much blood from her shattered foot, she began to lose consciousness.

As her vision blurred, she saw the figure behind the giant slowly vanish.

With that, Winifred lost consciousness.

After some time:

Winifred: "Ah… where am I?"

Winifred slowly regained consciousness.

She found herself in a small, open, green clearing in the middle of the forest. A small river flowed through the area, connecting and separating the forest to the left and right. Scattered across the river were small and large rocks, about the size of a sitting person. It was a beautiful place, serene and peaceful.

Winifred: "Ah… what happened?"

As she recalled what had happened, Winifred suddenly tried to get into a defensive stance, but her body was too tired, and she fell back to the ground.

Voice: "Hahaha… you're a brave girl!"

Hearing the laughing voice, Winifred stood up again, looking for its source.

Near the river, on a rock, a woman was sitting and looking at her. Her clothing was different from anything Winifred had seen before. It looked simple yet unusual, resembling traditional village attire.

Winifred: "Who are you?" she asked.

Woman: "Oh, don't be scared. I'm the one who saved you from that goblin giant!" the woman said, sitting on the rock.

Suddenly, Winifred remembered everything that had happened to her—the green giant, her shattered leg, and all the pain she had endured. As she recalled it, the shock hit her again. Her body trembled with fear and shock, and she suddenly lost all her strength, collapsing onto the ground. Her eyes, still wide in disbelief, caught sight of something that startled her.

It was her leg—the one that had been shattered just moments ago, but now it was healed.

Winifred: "Ah… ah! It's healed… but how? It was shattered before!"

Woman: "Don't move too much. I just healed your foot, but your body will take time to recover from the shock," the woman said.

There was some blood on her foot, but only a small amount, like a scratch. Slowly, Winifred began to move her leg.

Winifred: "Oh… thank you, ma'am!"

Winifred: "Ahh… it doesn't hurt, but how?"

While moving her leg carefully, she looked toward the woman sitting on the rock. She also glanced around, trying to see if there was any danger.

Woman: "Don't worry, you're safe now. I'm here," the woman reassured her.

Winifred: "Ma'am, are you the one who killed that green giant monster?" she asked cautiously.

Woman: "Yes," the woman replied.

Winifred: "Oh… thank you for saving me, ma'am!" she said.

Woman: "Ah, don't thank me. By the way, that wasn't just any monster—it was a goblin lord," the woman said.

Winifred: "Ah… goblin lord? I don't know who that is," she said.

Woman: "Don't worry. I think I know why you don't know about the goblin lord," the woman said.

Hearing this, Winifred was shocked. How does she know I don't know about the giant? Does she know I'm not from here? Winifred thought to herself.

Woman: "By the way, what is your name? Oh, and my name is Elise," the woman said.
