Alexander Preston indeed hadn't been waiting there all day. When Jaylene Ziel and Ivy returned after another round, his car was finally gone from beside hers.

However, when she walked back to her own car, she found a note clipped to the door, with Alexander's flamboyant handwriting on it: "Don't forget tonight's alumni meeting at Beacon Hill!"

Alexander wrote in large characters and didn't bother folding the note, just leaving it hanging boldly on the car door. Ivy couldn't help but notice it when she approached.

"So, you and Clayton Corp's director are classmates, huh?" Ivy laughed as she got into the car.

"Yes," Jaylene casually replied, "We both went to the same middle school, though he graduated three years ahead of me."

Now it was Ivy's turn to be surprised: "Oh, then why didn't he promote you at Clayton Corp?"

"Maybe he thought I wasn't competent enough?" Jaylene still replied casually.
