In the darkness, I saw the first signs of the system in a long time.

[The host will now enter the world of "The General Games".]

After giving me enough time to read this, I was once again embraced by the familiar feeling of darkness.

...

"Bang!"

Waking up suddenly, I accidentally banged my head against the bunk above me.

"Goddamnit Valens! Why do you have to keep doing that every single time you wake up! Just tie yourself to the damn bed if you can't fix it yourself!"

I was still a little confused, and the shouting right in my ear made me all the more discombobulated, so I put my hands over my ears, and closed my eyes for a second.

"Hoo... Haa..."

Taking in a few deep breaths and letting them out, I finally opened my eyes again and looked to my side.

There, I saw the face of a kid, but it was upside-down as he was yelling at me whilst he was hanging himself over the edge of his bed, the bunk above mine.

"S-sorry..." I said, trying to sound like a wimp to get him to back off.

"Yeah you better be, you dimwit."

He smacked me in the head, before disappearing from my view as he got back on his bunk.

Seeing that he was gone, I quickly started analyzing my surroundings, and well, let's just say they looked completely dystopian futuristic.

I was currently about 100 floors in the air, and surrounding me in all directions were the gridded, orderly bunks of thousands, if not millions of children as I wasn't able to see the far ends or the walls of this room that we were currently in.

(A/N: I got this idea from my Paul Bunyan children's book. Props to you if you know who that is.)

Looking around, I saw that all the children, including me, were all wearing the same gray, prison-like clothes, each with a different number on them.

My number, of course it had to be this number, was 212.

Remembering the system prompts when I was in the darkness, I immediately started searching for another child that was just as confused as me.

I mean, I already knew that I was in a different body than the one from "My Side of Midnight", as my hands were too small and my signature pepper gray hair or snow white hair was nonexistent.

Noticing that there were only boys around me, I sighed.

'I guess they separate the boys and girls in this world.'

I looked around a second time just to make sure that I hadn't missed anything.

But this time, as I was just "looking" at my surroundings, I felt a certain sense of nostalgia.

This sense of nostalgia quickly turned into one of pain though, as foreign memories were injected into me for the second time.

As I was already prepared for this, suspecting that it might happen, I quickly laid facedown with my face in my pillow, covered my whole body with my blanket, and then started biting and grinding my pillow with my teeth as I tried to endure the pain.

"Uuhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!"

This lasted for quite some time, as the other children around the little boy screaming into his pillow just thought, 'That's strange, why do I hear a constant hum all of a sudden? Ah, it's probably just a trick of my brain.'

...

I was finally able to control my body again, as the pain in my brain had disappeared into the wind.

Seeing that my blanket, pillow, and the entire mattress were all soiled by my sweat, I just shook my head.

'Goddamn, I hope the cleaning robots wash my sheets good before tonight.'

But, right away, as soon as I got this thought out, I was once again hit by another surge of pain.

Reacting quickly, I once again threw my face into the already destroyed pillow.

I lost myself in the pain yet once again.

...

[Synchronization - "The General Games": 80% -> 90%]

[Synchronization - "The General Games": 90% -> 95%]

Seeing these two messages, I was finally given a respite from the hellish pain that came with getting memories forcefully injected into your head.

But, I didn't really care for the pain, as I now had a distinct advantage over all the other children here.

I was going to win the General Games.

I made this conviction deep in my heart.

Well, you must be confused right now, so let me explain.

Currently, I had three different pieces of knowledge of this world.

My first knowledge of this world was from the original book that I had read back on my original Earth.

The book was set in a dystopian future on an unnamed planet where there were 5 nations fighting for power.

As a result of this, all the nations started creating programs to effectively breed and teach the next generations to try and find the most effective general for each of their respective armies.

And, of course, I was currently in one of these programs, known in this country as "The General Games".

The Protagonist was a kid bred from two of the greatest generals of the previous generation, and he went on to completely demolish the competition with his genetically superior brain and critical thinking skills.

In the end, he led the nation to victory, but then started committing genocide (like someone we all know), as he realized that this reality was just a hell that they couldn't escape from.

In the end, it was his lover who killed him, and then she rebuilt the world or something like that. I never read the sequel as I really liked the protagonist and agreed with his beliefs, and well, I also thought that the sequel would be boring if there were no more "Games" to keep me entertained with.

(A/N: Same reason I stopped reading after Ender's Game.)

That was the extremely basic plot of the novel.

Well, anyways, onto the knowledge of this body.

Actually, there wasn't much to say, as it was all things I already knew from either the first piece of knowledge of the third piece of knowledge.

And the third piece of knowledge was the knowledge from my previous run-through of the novel.

For some reason, the synchronization had stopped at 95%, so I couldn't see how I completed the transmigration.

But, I was able to see all my wins and failures.

And this was extremely helpful, as now, I could adjust my plans otherwise.

Also, for some reason, I could feel spiritual energy in my body, and my stigmas were still intact.

So I knew, this time, I would definitely clear this transmigration perfectly.

"All numbers, please move to the testing rooms."

Hearing this robotic voice, I snapped out of my thoughts, before I just jumped off my bunk from 100 floors in the air.

Falling, I then felt a cool air as it rushed past me and slowed down my descent.

Like I was playing at a FlyI, I narrowed my body into a pencil like shape so that I flew down faster and faster, before spreading out my body suddenly near the bottom, so that I was suddenly stopped from splattering my organs all over the ground.

Putting my feet downwards, I then softly landed on the ground.

Then, I saw a door appear in front of me, and so I walked through it.

Walking into a plain, but futuristic looking testing room, I found my seat which had my number marked on it.

As the class was quickly filled, I once again heard a robotic voice as the door-like thing at the front of the class disappeared.

The first ever "game" of the novel was starting, and I couldn't help myself from shaking in excitement.

"Let the Testing begin!"
