Chương 3: Boomerangs

*Beep! Beep! Beep!* "Dumb alarm clock." I mutter as I fumble with it' settings to turn it off. [What to wear, what to wear...] Scanning my wardrobe for something at least halfway decent to wear to school today, my hand brushes over something soft. "Dad..." I murmur. Picking up a piece of soft fabric and holding out before me. On it, there's a hand-drawn unicorn and a few balloons. But the really special part? It has my name, Raine, Written on the bottom. [I remember when he made me this.] Right after my fifth birthday, my aunt gave me a package, on it, It said To: Raine, From: Dad. When I opened it, I read the card he sent along with it. 'Babygirl, I know you miss me and I miss you too. Which is why I'll be coming to see you in 19 days. Love, Dad' And along with the card, there was the unicorn fabric. And even though my naive 5 year old self kept denying that he had forgotten about me after I waited 23 days for him to return. I knew the truth. He's found some chick to give him shelter and was probably banging her that very second. "Ah, I'm getting side-tracked." Picking the closest thing to decent I owned, I quickly changed into my school clothes and went to the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth. Looking in the mirror, I see a medium length, brown-haired girl with skin so tan, anyone could easily mistake her for being a different race. "Oh, today they're green, huh?" I sighed looking at my eyes. They change from Green to blue and sometimes Grey. It gets annoying. Entering the school building was easy. But getting past the dorks was a whole other level. "Hey, Raine!" [ Oh great. Its the Leader.] "Hi, Jake." I answer coldly. "listen dude, I just wanna get past you to get to my locker okay? No conversations." I say in my nicest way possible at the moment. "Oh, sure! Anything for you" He says enthuastically while moving.
