Crack-
[#1 #$%¨@?]
"Ugh..."
Wednesday woke up with the sound of her broken bones and strange intermittent robotic voices.
There wasn't one place where her body wasn't broken, her field of view was blurred and confused.
She exhaustively moved her eyeballs to analyze her situation.
"!"
A broken mannequin was below her body.
Crack-
She tried to turn her body, but her bones started to make strange sounds again.
She quickly analyzed the situation. The mannequin was still there without moving.
Wednesday had lost consciousness, it meant that Tuesday dealt with the mannequin alone.
"...Tuesday?"
With a faint and fragile voice, Wednesday tried to call her sister.
'...'
No answer came from her mind.
Wednesday's body started to tremble hopelessly.
Many feelings welcomed her body at the same time.
Her pale face was completely red.
She could die from shame right now.
'Let's fight it together.'
Wednesday remembered her words to Tuesday, which echoed in her mind nonstop.
Her shame overcame the pain in her body.
Wednesday hated losing more than anything else.
She was the kind of person who preferred to die in a fight than come back alive with a loss in her history.
She could tolerate Tuesday to a certain extent because it felt like a loss to her.
But the mannequin before her, a not even living being, had completely destroyed her pride.
She wanted to tear apart its whole body, but unfortunately, Tuesday had already made it.
Blegh-
Blood came from her mouth. Her inner organs were severely damaged.
It was natural, her body hadn't matured yet to deal with such intense fights.
It was a surprise that she had gone so far, her mind and body clearly were beyond a common child.
Even with blood coming from her body, Wednesday's mind still was processing her situation ashamed.
She had so many things to think.
How could she have been so imprudent?
She put them both in this situation because she couldn't contain her curiosity.
Wednesday had deliberately ignored many warnings Tuesday had given her.
In the end, she needed to interfere in the duel and resolve her business like a mother taking care of her child's problems.
How could she still stay alive?
She wanted her heart to be crushed immediately so that she could stop thinking about it.
Wednesday had never experienced a real threat to her life.
She was always protected by Tuesday.
Tuesday diligently provided enough food and water for their domestic Lion as if she was scared he would eat them.
When Uncle Fester's sword almost reached her body, she would dodge.
When her grandma played swords she would avoid any near places.
When her father approached armed she would mercilessly hit his face and balls.
Even her mother was a victim of Tuesday's overprotecting.
Wednesday remembered that when she tried to touch a carnivorous plant Tuesday personally killed all of them with insecticides and fire.
She could vividly remember the terrified face of her mother.
'I always was protected...'
The only time she felt pain in her life was when she fought with Tuesday. She remembered how good she felt at the end of each fight.
Her face became even redder.
The solid image Wednesday had of herself started to be broken into several pieces.
She realized she was just a stupid kid, nothing more, nothing less.
Tuesday did not even see her on equal terms, but as someone to be "protected".
She didn't like it. She could take care of herself alone.
Her trembling eyes stared at the mannequin again.
She really could?
There was a proof in front of her showing how naive and incapable she was.
It was because she acted this way Tuesday always treated her as someone to be protected.
This couldn't be Tuesday's fault. She couldn't be blamed.
The only person she could blame was herself.
Her incapabilities, poor judgment, lack of reflection, and weak power.
Crack-
Wednesday tightened her wrists.
Warm tears came from her eyes.
She felt like trash. No, even trash was better than her if it could be recycled.
If Tuesday was there she would sing a song to relieve her worries.
When she thought about it more tears came from her eyes.
Wasn't it because she relied on everything to Tuesday they were in this situation in the first place?
Wednesday closed her eyes tightly.
She was recording this shame in her heart.
'This is the last time I allow myself to feel this way.'
Wednesday's eyes opened with determination and rage.
Now, she was completely alone. It was the perfect time to prove to herself that she could be better than trash.
'I will get Tuesday out of here.'
This was a moment Wednesday never would forget.
It was the moment that she took her own decisions.
A red light came from her pupils. Dark energy started to involve her body.
Growl~
A strange sound came from her body, Wednesday felt very hungry.
Her eyes stared emotionless at the mannequin.
[#1 #$%¨*&$]
Squish~
Every time the robotic voice came a tentacles seemed to move above the mannequin's body.
'It seems...'
Wednesday's hands approached the tentacle as if hypnotized.
Squish!
The tentacle started to contort in her hand desperately.
Without hesitation Wednesday put the tentacle in her mouth.
Crash-
Her teeth strongly bit the tentacle's body, and a strange sticky sensation came from her mouth.
Dark energy involved her body even more.
Crack- Crack-
Her bones started to come back to their original positions.
'Delicious'
This was the only thing Wednesday could think of. She was intoxicated by the excentric taste in her mouth.
It tasted better than the food her mother made.
She wanted more. She needed more.
Squish?
Her eyes stared at countless tentacles deliciously coming inside the mannequin's body like larvae.
'So many~'
A dangerous red became even redder.
Squish!!
Again, her hand grabbed another tentacle and ate it living as it was.
The tentacle contorted in her mouth. She felt a strong dark energy enveloping her body again.
Gulp.
Maybe it wasn't that bad that Tuesday was sleeping.
The vision she would do from now on wasn't something she wanted to show her.
'Bon apettite.'
*
Homer was passing through one of the most terrifying moments of his life.
His master had gone crazy.
Squish! Squish!!
Tentacles were eaten and split by his master.
A black liquid was scattered all over the floor.
Homer shrunk his body with his legs contracted in the corner of the room.
He wouldn't be eaten too, would he?
Squish!!!
"Is it all...?" she said, her eyes carrying a scary and intimidating red.
[#1 @#%%@@!]
"Give me more, now."
[...]
The room became completely silent.
"Tsk"
Wednesday was frustrated, she was still hungry.
Fortunately, her body had already been fully healed.
"Homer."
'!!!'
"Come here."
Wednesday extended her hands to the little scared spider.
Homer approached reluctantly. His instincts told him it would be worse if he didn't.
The little spider climbed naturally onto her shoulder.
Every time Wednesday was in command, he would climb on her shoulder. When it was Tuesday, he would comfortably sleep on top of her head.
He could naturally recognize his master. Homer was the most intelligent spider among his siblings.
"Why is it not opened?"
In front of them a door was there, closed the same way as before.
Wednesday approached the door analyzing any details.
There was a big and old keyhole in the door, the pattern was one that she could unlock with her eyes closed.
Maybe if she had analyzed the door before she could have avoided the trial.
She didn't know if the mannequin or the voice would interrupt her actions, though.
Wednesday needed an object small enough to open it, but where could she find one?
Her eyes stared fixedly at a peculiar and broken mannequin on the ground, more precisely at its fingers.
"Good food and tools, I misunderstood you."
[#1 @#%%@@!!!]
Wednesday picked up one of the mannequin's fingers.
Click- Click- Creak.
In just a few seconds, the door opened, revealing a dark room with nothing inside.
Wednesday saved the finger in her pocket for future use and contrary to before didn't enter the door immediately.
She didn't know if the trial had broken because of her actions or if it was just a different kind of trial.
Grab.
Wednesday grabbed the mannequin's head and threw it in the room.
Thum. Thum. Thump.
The head rolled on the floor. Any traps or weird objects appeared.
It seemed safe for a while. Maybe the trip would be safer than she expected.
She was a little disappointed.
Wednesday caught the wooden sword again and entered the room with steady steps.
Bam!
When she fully entered the room, an invisible force closed the door.
She naturally tried to get into a fighting stance, but before her hands could move a familiar androgynous voice welcomed her ears.
[#1/#2/#NaN Hide and Seek]
Thump.
The last thing Wednesday perceived was the floor in front of her eyes while losing consciousness.
Trick-
And a peculiar sound she didn't want to think about anymore.
I'm surprised by the feedback this had. Thank you, guys! Regular releases now.
Some important notes:
- Volume 2 will have a break of one week in the middle and end of the volume to save more chapters.
- I used GPT to fix the grammar in chapters 1-5, but from chapter 6 and onwards I'm using it just in some sentences occasionally. I want to be less dependent on GPT. I apologize for the strange sentences, I will improve little by little.
