"So, the Heavenly Wish Trial will be held around three weeks later by the bear kin?"
"Yes sir, that's right."
Sipping the wine from his cup slowly, Mays continued his questioning with a relaxed manner. The others were busy eating the dishes served in front of them without minding the bloodied Drea kneeling on the floor not too far from them.
"But you said earlier that the king himself decided when to start the trial?"
"Yes, yes."
Hurriedly replying to every question asked by Mays, Drea kept stealing a glance at both Ria and Hallel. He was obviously still wary of them.
"The item I mentioned earlier, the Earth Key. Only the Earth Key can be used to open the cavern where the trial will be held."
"And the king holds the key?"
"Not him but one of his loyal retainer, Chieftain Pomomo of Black Bear tribe. He is the city lord of BlackFur City which is located northeast from here."
As if he was contemplating over something, Mays turned silent after he heard that information. He was indeed thinking about the best way to get a hold of that key. It was then when Hallel who was busy chewing the meat interrupted their talk.
"Just go find that Pomomo and steal that key. What's there to think about?"
Her frank tone together with her confident gaze made Mays speechless. This girl was without a doubt a muscle head. It was true that Mays could easily snatched that key away if he wanted to but there would be a lot of inconvenience later if he did so.
Mays always do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. But he didn't blindly do so like Hallel and Ria. To others, he might seemed like a rash person but he was really calculative. He always planned everything inside his head before he do something. He also didn't want problems sprouting out after he did something later.
"Ugh, Hallel. There is actually a lot to think about that I don't even wanna bother explaining. Just focus on your meal."
"Humph! I'm just saying!"
Hallel harrumphed after she got refuted by Mays. Ria who was sitting beside Mays giggled at her. She was used to how Mays often over thinking things hence she didn't say anything before Mays decided on something.
"Would there be any implication to Stan's plan if we wreck havoc here in this dukedom?"
Just to be sure, Mays asked Drea for confirmation. The main reason why he didn't plan to raid BlackFur City was out of consideration of Stan. Mays was not someone ungrateful. Since he got the information from Stan, he should at least consider the other party circumstances before doing anything in their turfs.
"It's okay. Even if the demons was alerted because of this event, it would be too late for them to stop guild master. His plan won't be affected."
"If you says so."
With Drea's reassurance, Mays had no more worries. He then dismissed Drea before he started eating the food served in front of him. Most of the food was already eaten by everyone else but Mays wouldn't bicker about something that petty. Everyone seated at the table was people closest to him after all.
"We going to snatch the key then?"
Ria who was licking her spoon asked. Everyone who heard the conversation between Mays and Drea earlier would come to that conclusion. Hallel and the others also stared at Mays when they heard the question.
"Yep. Its faster that way. Nobody had a complaint right?"
"Nope."
"None from me."
"No complaint."
"Mira always agreed to master's decision."
"Heh, good for you. The harem members all replied obediently."
Hallel snorted after Mays's decision was supported by everyone. Not just his spirits, even Minerva, Ria's spirit, answered right away albeit shyly. She was obviously still bitter about earlier when Mays refuted her.
"What? You got a problem with it?"
"Of course I don't. It was my suggestion to begin with."
Hallel rolled her eyes when Mays asked that question. It was as if Mays deliberately trying to pick a fight with her. She was the only one who thought so though.
"That's good then. We can go right away after we finished eating."
Nobody would ever said no to Mays's decision. Not to mention the spirits, even Ria and Kasimon would follow Mays's decision without asking anything. Their trust for Mays was second to none.
As for Drasca, she was still curling around Mays's neck like a real muffler. She was awake all these time but she didn't say anything about Mays's current plan since there was no reason for her to do so. Mays was someone who could fight legendary beings of her level, obviously this unknown bear kin warrior wouldn't be a match for him.
"Oh yea Kasimon. I have other mission for you."
"Which is?"
Rather than questioning why she alone was assigned with a solo mission, she readily asked for the details of the said mission. She would accomplish the mission without fail since it was something asked by Mays.
"I want you to group together with the other MisfitSquad members and go to MoonElf Dukedom. Wait for further instruction from me over there."
"Okay. Anything else?"
"Also inform San and the rest to set up meet up with you guys. I have a plan for them since I'm sure they won't dismiss their army just like that."
"Understood."
No useless question and no complaint. Kasimon was a perfect example of a brilliant and hardworking secretary. With her bright mind, she already knew what Mays planned to do. What use were there for an army in the middle of enemy territories?
Mays was really daring. He dared to try wiping out demon kin from this world, in their home ground even. But since Mays already decided to do so, he might have a plan already inside his head. He was just that awesome.
Apart from Demon Empire located in the middle of the Demon Continent which was not included in the forty four dukedom of Demon Continent, there were only seven other dukedom which were occupied by demon offspring.
Orcbold Dukedom which was governed fully by orcs. CursedSoil Dukedom, the home of Liches and necromancers alike. DemonBlood Dukedom which consisted of the Goblin Kingdom and the Great Ogre Tribe.
Vampyr Dukedom, a dukedom of vampires. BlueHarpy Dukedom, BiliardPegasus Dukedom and WingedMonkey Dukedom, hybrid winged beast which barely had demon blood in them but possessed absolutely loyal to the demons. All these clans and bloodlines were related to demons and also the main target for the purge.
-----------------------------------
PheonixHaven Dukedom.
A dukedom isolated from other dukedom since its location was on top of the tallest mountain in the continent, the Sky Piercing Mountain. This Sky Piercing Mountain was way taller than other mountains in demon continent, even taller than the mountain range dragons and harpies lived in.
Inside the innermost chamber located at the tallest building on top of Sky Piercing Mountain, Immortal Phoenix Shalala finally finished with her reincarnation process. She was now sitting beside her golden bedding, lost in her own thought.
It took her more than one week to reconstruct her body after she used her reincarnation skill last time. This was in fact the very first time she experienced being reborn since she inherited her immortality from her ancestor's grave.
There were three other gold ranked insane bosses inside PheoenixHaven Dukedom but obviously none of them were stronger than Shalala. Two of them were elders whose age were in the tens of thousands of years while the other one was a little younger with an age of three thousand years.
Shalala was indeed a genius of their clan who managed to reach gold ranked insane boss level in less than one thousand years. Waiting outside the chamber was these three, awaiting for the words of their supreme queen, Shalala.
"I have returned."
Shalala muttered as she stood up and walked toward the other three.
"Welcome back my queen."
The three of them kneeled once Shalala stood before them. Every single one of them had a look of veneration when they looked up toward Shalala, the sole phoenix descendant who was able to inherit the immortality blessing. She was in fact the only one who managed to do so in the last one hundred thousand years.
"Mobilize every able body in the dukedom. I want information about a human named Mays. As much as possible!"
"As you command, my queen."
The one who replied was Ice Phoenix Greg, PhoenixHaven Dukedom's military general. He was also the youngest among the three gold ranked insane bosses present. He immediately walked away without further question proving that his loyalty to the queen was indisputable.
"What happened little Sha?"
"Could that human be the reason why you reincarnated?"
Both the elder changed the way they addressed Shalala the moment Greg left. It was apparent that the relationship between these three were closer than it looks. In fact, Shalala was actually brought up by this pair of elder since she was a child. They treated her like their own flesh and blood.
"That's not the case, Grandma Esha, Grandpa Okla. He is just a human. But he is partly the reason why I'm in this state."
In front of these two elder, Shalala acted like a little child, devoid of her excessive arrogant and overbearing. She even told the two everything that happened before she was forced to use her reincarnation cocoon.
"Before you continue... I have something I don't quite understand. Why would you and Drasca go all the way to the portal gate and help a vampire?"
"Yea little Sha, grandma also find that quite intriguing. I know that Drasca lass is your best friend but this vampire... who is he?"
Since these two elder observed their queen most of the time, they practically knew everything about her. She suddenly befriended Drasca hundreds of years ago was somewhat drastic but it was still logical considering the two of them were heavenly genius of their clan.
But this vampire on the other hand was someone totally in a different league compared to them. Not to mention that they never met this vampire prior to this hence why the sudden impulse to do so? It made no sense no matter how they try figuring it out.
"Err, who is he again? Eh? Why can't I remember?"
Placing her right palm on her forehead, Shalala tried to recall the incident again. She really had no idea nor impression as of what kind of connection she had with that vampire. In fact, she never even met him before. Why would she and Drasca suddenly go that far just to aid him? It was even she herself who picked up Drasca before going to that vampire.
The more she think about it, the more her head hurts. Her situation was totally different compared to Drasca. Drasca was awaken from her dormant state thanks to the collar she got from Mays but she didn't. The other consciousness who invaded her body was absorbed into her cycle of reincarnation and got wiped out in the process.
Because of that, the memories of that other consciousness were now assimilated into her own, making it her legit memories. She only absorbed the memories related to her body though, not everything. That was why she didn't realized the fact that she was possessed by something previously. Her current situation was the same as what happened to both King Hitam Legam and Crown Prince Kuribo five years ago.
"Sorry Grandma Esha, Grandpa Okla. My mind is kind of a mess at the moment. I need to rest for now."
"It's okay little Sha, take your time."
"Yeah, everything is good as long as you're okay."
Using her recent reincarnation as an excuse, she made up a lie to ease up the two elders in front of her. She didn't want these two worrying over her. She once again tried to go through all the inconsistencies within her memories after the two elders left. Her sight then glued at the golden bracelet on her left arm, the Everlasting Life Bracelet.
"Wait for me my friend, I'll come for you."
Deep in her mind, she already decided that right after she recovered to her peak in a few days, she would set out and look for Drasca. She knew that the one with the highest chances to know the truth was Drasca.
That golden bracelet was PhoenixHaven Dukedom's ancient treasure. It was actually a matching bracelet where she gifted the other one to Drasca years ago. It was even enchanted with[Blood Link], a simple detection function for the wielder to detect each other as long as both the wielder were alive.
In truth, the one who used the Everlasting Life Bracelet was that entity who possessed her body. Since she was good friends with the possessor of Drasca, she felt that there was no reason not to use the item. It was better than letting it rot inside their treasury. This in turn benefited the real Shalala because this bracelet was without doubt the biggest lead she had to track Drasca.
------------------------------
BlackFur City was governed by BlackBear Tribe. There were more than ten bear tribes all over BrutalBear Dukedom and BlackBear Tribe was one of the stronger tribe at the moment. With Chieftain Pomomo as the city lord, there had been no one who dared to stir up trouble in the city for years.
Until today that was.
Right now, the city hall itself was under attack. A huge dragon was hovering on top of the city hall while the inside of the city hall had been invaded by intruders. Most of the guards inside the city hall were knocked unconscious while several of them were fatally injured.
Despite almost everyone inside the city hall had been subdued, there was still one lone fighter who was adamant on resisting. He was none other than Chieftain Pomomo, the current city lord of BlackFur City. His courage was commendable. In the middle of his office room, he was fighting alone against Mays's spirits.
He didn't falter even against multiple attacker stronger than him. Even when he was the only one left standing, his fighting spirits was still burning, unyielding till the very end. He was still subdued after he ran out of stamina though.
"Let's make things simple. I bet you already know why I'm here. Be smart and give me the Earth Key."
Mays grinned as he asked Pomomo for the key.
"Over my dead body!"
Apparently Pomomo was still unyielding. Despite being disabled, he was still adamant on not compromising.
"You sure? I don't want you to regret it later. Last chance, give me the key."
"Not happening."
Once again, Mays's request was declined.
"Okay fine."
Mays was not a fan of wasting time when he was close to achieving his target hence he immediately ordered Drasca to use her skill, [Memory Search]. The current Drasca had enough power to use simple magic skill and [Memory Search] was one of them.
[Memory Search] skill was the low tier version of [Mind Absorption] which was used to peer into the minds of others, especially those weakling on intermediate boss level and below. She couldn't use that power on insane boss though.
"Got it. He had the key hidden in this city hall all the time. It was located in the hidden basement with the passage located under the southeast stairs."
Inside Mays's consciousness, Drasca explained in great details about the location of the Earth Key. Mays who listened to her immediately move out, looking for the said stairs. Ria, Hallel and all the spirits followed him as he walked away from the room.
Pomomo was left unguarded inside his office room. His eyes were white out. It was the after effect of [Memory Search]. If only this chieftain was not so loyal in keeping the key location to himself, Mays might just leave him be.
But since the memory search skill was used, the him right now already lose control over his body and mind. He would forever stayed in that vegetative state unless someone managed to clarify his mind befuddlement. If left alone, his vegetative state might be incurable.
"Is it down here?"
The hidden basement was unexpectedly filled with countless treasure. These treasure was without doubt Pomomo's secret stash. There were even several chests filled to the brim with silver coins. Mays laughed when he saw that chest though. These silver coins worth very little compared to the amount of money he had inside his inventory.
"Yea. Look for a red box fastened by a purple vine. The key should be in that box."
Mays urged the others to look for the box. He was too lazy to bother looking for it when he had so many able hand eager to move following his order.
"How do you know that the key is down here Mays?"
Ria who was clueless asked in astonishment.
"His sixth sense apparently."
Before Mays opened his mouth to answer the question, Hallel who was by his side already answered. Mays just nodded in agreement with that answer as he was too lazy to reveal the real reason.
"Master! Mira found it!"
Happily jumping around with the red box in her hand, Mira presented the box toward Mays. She was obviously happy to be the one who found the box. Mays took the box from Mira and he opened the box right away. There really was a key inside the box, a brown, worn out earthen key.
"Good job Mira. This is indeed the key we are looking for."
Mays praised Mira as he patted her head gently. Mira was beyond happy as she enjoyed being spoiled by her master. Syaitona and the rest of his spirits gritted their teeth in jealousy when they saw how smug Mira looks like at the moment.
"Well then, let's get going."
"Okies."
"Right away."
"Yes master."
