41.78% Villain Support Agency ( On Hiatus ) / Chapter 61: Unleashing the Wind of Desolation: A Deadly Encounter with the Cat Monster

Chương 61: Unleashing the Wind of Desolation: A Deadly Encounter with the Cat Monster

Bones suddenly erupted from Carl's body. Two long bones came out of each of his shoulders, one from each of his elbows and knees, one from his palm, and a couple from his back. The suit he wore was immediately torn by the bones, luckily, he had remembered to take off the shirt that Blorg had made for him as it would simply limit his ability.

With his entire body resembling a porcupine, Carl charged forward and unleashed mayhem on the weaker monsters.

His physical body was already strong enough to be a C-grade, and with the powerful bones that were infused with flux, which made them much tougher than normal bones, as well as sharper, he was like a machine as he slaughtered his way through the monsters, leaving everybody speechless.

"So that's his ability," Lucius commented as he glanced at Carl who was charging forward and using his strong bones to stab and cut through monsters with ease.

'Bones, a body enhancement type of ability, not a bad one at all.' Lucius commented as he stared at Carl.

'But that alone won't be enough to deal with that monster, with those bones, his power was more akin to somebody at the peak of C-grade, and the difference between a C-grade and a B-grade is not a small one.'

'Does he have something up his sleeve, an item that can help him even out the odds, or does he truly believe this is enough to deal with that cat?'

'Carl, I hope you know what you're doing.' Lucius told himself as he charged at the humanoid monster that had two heads.

He had been a B-grade for quite some time and fought against heroes who were equal to him multiple times, so his combat experience was much higher compared to Isabella and Carl. He had initially planned on taking the cat by himself as he was able to sense that it was stronger than the others.

It was faster and the amount of flux leaking out of its body was enough for Lucius to realize that it was a step above the other two, but Carl charged at it before he was able to say a thing.

Isabella was up against the flaming ape as her ability was the opposite of the ape's power, and with her powerful frost, she was the perfect enemy for the ape. The battle between them would be one to determine whose ability is more powerful as they immediately used them against the other, trying to overwhelm the other to prove whose ability was superior.

Carl slaughtered about 15 monsters before coming across a C-grade that had decided to target him. The C-grade monster was a black tiger that moved very fast and was able to strike Carl from the side before he was able to notice it. Thankfully, the tough bones not only defended Carl, but also injured the tiger slightly, causing it to retreat and stare at Carl vigilantly.

"Leave it to me!" Somebody shouted as a couple of metal beams fell on top of the tiger who quickly jumped to the side before running around, evading more of them.

One of the C-grades was standing atop a beam that was levitating in the air while holding 20 more on one hand.

"I won't be able to do this much longer, about 10 more seconds, so hurry up, I'll draw its attention and fight it after you leave!" The villain, who had the ability to control anything he touched, told Carl who nodded his head and charged at the cat once again.

The ability the C-grade had was a very powerful one, it allowed him to control anything he touched, but only if the object was not a living being. It took a hell of a lot of flux to use the ability, so he was only able to fight for a short period of time, during which he hoped he would be able to kill or at the very least heavily injure the tiger.

Carl charged at the cat, but the cat charged at him as well, appearing in front of him immediately and swinging its paw from the side. Carl quickly turned his back to the paw and was sent flying. His bones broke, some of them managing to penetrate through the paw of the cat, but they did little damage while Carl was feeling a hell of a lot of pain.

Not only was his body hurting from the blow, but the bones that broke also hurt, even though they were outside his body, they were still his own bones, so the pain was not small at the very least.

He hit a building and went through two apartments before finally stopping and getting up. He was a bit dizzy, but he quickly recovered before running back to the cat which was charging at him again.

[ It's time to use the wind, otherwise, you will be slaughtered without being able to injure this thing. ]

The system told Carl who simply nodded his head. He still didn't know just how powerful the wind was, he had of course seen how the wind destroyed an entire planet in mere moments, but that was just an illusion, a dream.

Even if it was real, that would only mean that his ability was on par with Isabella's ability, which, at its peak, would allow her to freeze an entire planet. Neither of the two was even close to being able to control such monstrous power.

Carl jumped down and stared at the cat that was seemingly smiling at him. It was as if she had finally found a new toy to play with.

It charged with incredible speed, crossing several meters in one step, and in an instant, it appeared in front of Carl who had brought his hand forward.

[ Wind of Desolation ]

Suddenly, the cat's fur went up and its eyes became slightly fearful. Carl's palm became light green for an instant before a small gust of green wind was expelled from it, immediately hitting the cat and passing through it before continuing forward to the other monsters.

As the wind wouldn't hit any of the villains who were fighting, Carl didn't even need to focus on stopping it or controlling it, he simply let it continue forward.

In only 4 seconds, the wind had passed 250 meters and then disappeared. As for Carl, he suddenly fell to his knees and panted heavily as most of his flux had suddenly disappeared, used for the wind.

[ This is one of the reasons I told you to get the horn. ]

[ The wind is actually a more powerful ability, but compared to most elemental abilities, it doesn't start weak and becomes more powerful with the person who has it, instead, it starts strong, and then only gets a bit stronger, but the flux needed to use even a bit of its power is immense, not suited for beginners like you. ]

[ Not to mention the fact that if you make a mistake, the wind could harm you as well. ]

Carl nodded his head before opening his eyes wide. He was on his knees, weak, in front of the giant cat that could simply hit him with its paw and kill him immediately.

He quickly got up and jumped back before looking forward, and what he saw shocked him.

The metallic fur of the cat that had been dark gray in color had lost its luster. Instead of looking like it was made out of metal, the fur was now gray and looked like it was made of paper, it looked incredibly fragile.

The cat had seemingly lost its spirit, its eyes seemed a bit drowsy and its body had seemingly lost some weight.

Carl glanced behind the cat, only to see that any monster that had been struck with the wind was in the same condition, the weak ones actually having died immediately upon being hit.

"Holy hell," Carl said as he gulped.

He now understood why the system had told him that it didn't matter who his opponent was, he could defeat them after using the wind.

'Dammit, had I known this I would have tried to get all three B-grade monsters in one place and then hit them with this, wouldn't it have increased my reward?'

[ It would have, but we both know that that is almost impossible, against a B-grade, you would last for a very short period of time. ]

'Yeah, I guess you're right about that.'

'I should've gone against the A-grade then.'

[ You would have died. ]

'Oh come on, be a bit supportive at least.'

[ I'm just being honest, the wind wouldn't have had such a powerful effect on an A-grade, and you might have died without managing to even use it. ]

Carl simply nodded his head before staring at the cat with a dangerous smile.

"Now, kitty-cat, let's continue fighting."

The cat stared at Carl apprehensively and even tried to turn around and get away, only for it to scream out in pain as Carl used one of the bone blades sticking out of his palm to stab through one of its legs.
