A little explanation because delana doesn't know how to include it in the main text QAQ actually it's been explained but if you're still confused, here is the concise explanation of what 55 is going through

1. He is currently trapped in a time loop which he created by himself

2. It's caused by his wish to save the humankind from the experimental subjects and hence, he travelled countless times to the past and future to find someone who could fight them in his place

3. Even tho he is quite OP, he is actually not strong enough to get rid of all the subjects by himself and thus, he needed outside help

In other words, the time loop is the origin of the curse.

The time loop is as follows:

55 woke up and triggered Pandora's Box > research institute destroyed > Nightingale Prison was built > 55 was betrayed by human's greed > 55 self-destructed and turned into Pandora > Pandora escaped from prison > 55 woke up

So LYZ needs to break this time loop in order to save 55
