"Do you really think it's a good idea for them to meet like this?"
Yejun was currently sipping his wine as he eyed his pet being dragged out of the party. His hair was slicked back and he wore an exquisite royal blue suit. He had a white dress shirt underneath that had a few buttons undone. He had his other hand in his pocket and leaned on the wall.
"It's quite interesting really. I wonder if Kim Eungoo will choose the luxurious life over Min Kwan, literally the very person that stood by his side all these years. What do you think?"
Wonshik smiled as he eyed his hyung. He was clearly enjoying the misery that Eungoo and Kwan were facing but he felt like Park Yejun wasn't completely on board with it. He knew why but he didn't want to address it if his hyung wasn't even aware of it.
Yejun shook his head and placed his drink on a high table and sighed. "I could see this go both ways, Kwan either fucks up and Eungoo still decides to leave or by some miracle, he decides to stay." He grunted and took another glass of wine from the tray being passed around by the waiters.
"So you're not that confident that he'd actually stay?" Wonshik but his lips as he tried his best to hide his amusement at his hyung's nervousness in this whole situation. "Just calm down. Shouldn't you be enjoying the party? We're launching it today, infront of the whole world!"
Yejun nodded. It was true that today is the day that they get to launch the new tech. It was definitely something to look forward for. The Park industries had invited the media over but not entirely everyone as he wanted this party to maintain a somewhat sincere atmosphere.
"I just hate how he's actually coming here."
"Well… That's the price you've paid to get that tech. What did you talk about?"
Wonshik furrowed his brows at confusion as Yejun didn't bother telling him what had happened when they set up that certain meeting. It was unusual for his hyung to not tell him what the man had talked to them about.
Yejun shook his head and sighed as he then began to recall what had happened that day…
"Park Yejun! I didn't think you'd actually come." Kim Kangdae greeted him.
Park Yejun scrunched up his face in disgust as he was now well aware that he was standing right in front of the man that he hates so much. He shook his head as he scolded himself to get a grip. He needed to patient enough for him.
He took a seat infront of the man and stared at the Japanese cuisine prepared. Kangdae chose the location where they were supposed to meet as it was his only condition upon meeting with Park Yejun. It was unnegotiable but they too had their terms which is to meet each other alone.
Yejun slowly placed a cube-like briefcase on the table as he locked his eyes with the man. The other had chuckled and waved off a finger and gestured towards the item. Kangdae pointed the briefcase and threw his finger to the side. He crossed his arms over his chest and narrowed his eyes at him.
"Get that thing off the table. We're supposed to eat."
"Do you think I came here to eat, Kangdae?"
"Hyung. It's Kangdae-hyung to you." Kangdae sighed and grabbed a pair of chopsticks and began to dig into his bowl. He wanted to eat before he loses his appetite.
"You don't deserve my respect." And with that Kangdae slammed his chopsticks on the table glared at Yejun. He values food very much and he didn't want his order to be wasted.
"Do you want your tech or not? Because I really don't need to have this stupid meeting in the first place. And last time I checked, I wasn't going to leave this place empty handed. So, eat."
Yejun bit the insides of his check and side. Giving up, he grabbed his own pair of chopsticks and began to eat from his bowl. He didn't have much of a choice.
Kangdae smiled and grabbed some sushi before placing it on the empty dish beside Yejun. He even gave him some salad and served him soup.
"You don't have to do that." Yejun softly spoke.
"I'm still your hyung, Yejun-ah." He said before serving himself some too.
"I'm glad."
"What?" Yejun looked up as he drank some of his jasmine tea that was already prepared before he arrived. He wasn't quite sure if he heard him correctly.
"This tech seems so important to you that it made you so desperate to call for my presence. I'm glad." Kangdae smiled at his own selfishness and didn't look at Yejun for he knew what his face looked like right now. There wasn't always bad blood between the two. In fact, the two were the closest since childhood but drifted apart as adults.
"So you stole this from me?" Yejun asked as he was quite devasted at his Kangdae's actions.
"No. It was sold to me. I don't steal, Yejun. You know that, don't you?" he smiled and drank from his cup of tea.
"I don't know you at all, Kim Kangdae." And with that Kangdae's smile disappeared as he slowly placed his cup down. He was hurt. He basically took care of him ever since he was a child and to see the man that had become, he was just rather… disappointed. He thought that Yejun should have known better, but he knew why he was acting like this.
"Stop blaming me for what happened. His actions should have never affected our friendship in the first place."
"So now you want to bring that up?" Yejun scoffed and began shoving some noodles in his mouth as he was becoming clearly upset with this change of topic.
"Because you can't even let it go. My brother's actions-"
Yejun stopped him as he held his hand up. He felt like vomiting when he was being reminded of the man that broke his heart years ago. His first love betraying him in bed.
"How do you even live like this? Even after all of that, he's still your partner as when you just severed our ties. What the heck is that?" Kangdae shook his head as he finished off his bowl of soup.
This the common trait of the two as to why they were very close. They either eat or shoot things when they were upset; this is why Kangdae chose this location as he knew that they had to address the elephant in the room that has been sitting there throughout the years. And Kim Kangdae, wasn't going to let this opportunity pass him by.
"Are we still going to exchange techs or not?" Yejun spoke with an obvious hint of sarcasm and annoyance.
"I am not the enemy here, Yejun-ah." Kangdae sighed as he began to eat some sashimi that he made sure was covered in wasabi. "Someone told your guy to steal this from you and sell it from me. You better watch out, Yejun-ah before any more damages can occur."
The last words from Kim Kangdae rung in his mind and as he told Jeon Wonshik what had happened. Yejun sighed as he got another drink and downed it in one go. His dongsaeng looked stunned at the moment.
"We have a spy?" Wonshik gasped in disbelief and began to cautiously look around if there was anyone in arms reach listening to their conversation. "Do you think it's… ?"
"No! I don't think so. We're only partners with him for mafia business not… Park industry business and whatnot. This was a confidential project that has been going on for years now." Yejun spoke not looking at Wonshik. He spoke confidently just when his heart was aching at the possible fact that he was being betrayed once again by the same man. He didn't want to believe it. He always thought that he had changed and maybe one day when everything was okay they'd be both be together once more.
"Mr. Kim!" Both Yejun and Wonshik looked to the side as their gaze spotted a blonde girl with a pink mermaid gown. She strutted her way to the entrance to greet a man that had entered the party.
"Oh no." Jeon Wonshik grabbed another glass of wine from a different waiter and downed it in one go. He wasn't also on good terms with this man ever.
A man with chestnut brown hair was styled down. He wore black slacks and a pastel green blazer that went along with his white buttoned-up dress shirt. The crowd was slightly confused as to why the man was present at this event, considering he was known as Park Yejun's rival in the business industry.
"Mr. Kim Kangdae, are you here to sabotage Mr. Park Yejun's event?"
"Mr. Kim! About the other night-"
Kangdae raised his hands and smiled. "I am here to support Park Yejun in this event. That would be all, gentlemen."
Wonshik facepalmed himself and groaned. "He really does know how to make an entrance at a time like this."
Yejun wasn't paying that much of attention at him and had his eyes locked with Kangdae in which the older smiled at him. That's when he knew that the day was going to be longer than he thought.
