Hunter sat at his conference desk, staring at the screen in front of him, but the numbers and charts from the conference meeting blurred together.
His mind was elsewhere— tonight. Tonight he was finally going to open up to Delilah and tell her the truth. His heart raced at the thought. What if she didn't take it well? What if everything they'd been building fell apart?
He rubbed his temples and exhaled, trying to push away the growing anxiety.
After the meeting ended, Hunter hurried back to his office. No sooner had he stepped inside and shut the door behind him than there was a soft knock. Before he could respond, Sabrina stepped in.
"Hey," she said, closing the door behind her. She crossed her arms and gave him a look of concern as he sat behind his desk. "What's going on with you today? Everyone noticed you were distracted during the meeting."
Hunter let out a small sigh, leaning back in his chair. "I didn't realize it was that obvious."
