I know that writing is difficult but you don't have to be too opportunistic. Regarding the modifications, the elimination of constant cultural references is appreciated, I hate it when inappropriate comments break the sense of substitution, the fewer references to a previous life the better. For your part, the subtle changes in Wanda from being a former Chinese worker to a former Venezuelan teenage girl barely affect her subsequent actions in general. Therefore in both cases they are superfluous.
