BOOOM!!!
Princess gives her command and the mages starts to shower the salamanders with their AOEs. And all the hell is let loose. All kinds of spell get thrown at the salamanders. Some are hurling exploding fireballs. Others are making it rain frost on the salamanders.
Never thought I would witness something like this. They manage to eliminate the first line of the wave. But more charges into the front lines. Tanks do their best to hold of their charge. Those salamanders are as big as grown men.
Even with support from behind and their skills, some are failing to hold off the salamanders. Mages are still hurling their AOEs to the back of the salamanders.
They are barely holding on. And the salamanders at the back are circling around the tanks and surrounding the support.
This looks bad. Now the question is: do I help them?
First problem is: if I help them salamanders will focus on me and that will raise suspicions.
Second problem is: it will attract too much attention to me.
But if I don't help them, I'm pretty sure that they will be wiped out. And that would defeat the whole purpose of all this.
As I was pondering over my decision, I watch the few people.
First, princess. Guild master said that she is a talented elementalist. And she is quite strong compared to others around her. She is hurling all kinds of elemental magics at the salamanders.
I don't know why they aren't excluding their fire elemental attacks, considering that the salamanders are almost fireproof. Nonetheless, princess is doing her best.
Second, the Guild master standing next to the princess. I think she is a mage. She is casting spells. It may take a little longer than the princess, but power is on a whole different level.
Third, the Under-guild master on the frontlines. He is slaughtering the salamanders. His gauntlets shining with red light over its silver exterior. And his eyes are blood red. I think he is in berserk state. At least I think what that is called here.
Even if he got bit by a salamander, he simply shrugs the bite and crushes its skull. Those three are the most eye-catching. But that doesn't mean that others are doing so horribly. Especially the princess' knight's order.
They have a solid team work and fight in an orderly fashion. They know that they got each other's back. And that gives them an edge over the adventurers and the operatives.
Then of them are tanking in the front. Another ten are in the middle casting spells at the salamanders. And last ten are providing support for the tanks. Since I severely lack information about this place's power structure, I can't guess what class they got from skills they're using.
But they are holding back the salamanders and killing them with consistency. What is screwing everything are the adventurers and the operatives. They got no order. They are simply brawling, not fighting. Even the normal foot soldiers are doing better than them.
They may not kill the salamanders, but they are holding them of with no problem. As for the adventurers and the operatives, they are making a mess of the battlefield.
Most of the casualties are occurring on their side. At this rate salamanders will circle them around and wipe them out from both sides.
I need to do something about this. While they are still holding them off.
First, I go to the left side of the battlefield and starts to build another wall on that side. Salamanders are circling the army once again unintentionally. So, if block two sides of the battlefield, they will have no choice to but go through the army.
So, I build my wall with circular shape and block of the left side of the battlefield. It takes me about ten minutes to build big enough wall to block this side. Others are surprised out of their minds because I did it under my camouflage.
So, to them it looks like big thorn wall appeared out of nowhere. After finishing the left side, I go to the right side.
...…
Well, that wall was out of nowhere. I think 47 is responsible for that. I guess he solved our biggest problem. If things went the way it was going, we would have been surrounded and wiped out. Still, it is kind of scary how he managed to build that big of a wall in that short time. More I get to know about him, more he scares me.
Still, it's been a while since last I let loose. It feels good. But one thing is still worrying me. How the hell did 47 knew my relationship with the Guild Master. He knows there is something. But I can't tell him that she is my wife.
As I was thinking about that, another thorn wall starts to grow on the right side of the battlefield. With that, the most problematic issue on this battlefield got solved.
And after another ten minutes, thorn wall just like one on the left side forms on the right side. Now all we need to worry about is eliminating the salamanders.
...…
"Orlin, do you know who is building those walls?"
"I don't, your highness. I think it is better to ask about that from Owl."
"You're right. If you don't know, he will definitely know."
I look to my bracelet and contacts Owl.
"Can you hear me, Owl?"
"I'm here, your highness."
"What do you know about those thorn walls?"
"I'm pretty sure that is 47's doing, your highness."
"You're not sure?"
"Yes. But he is the only person present on this battlefield who can do this, your highness."
"And are you absolutely sure that he is here?"
"Yes, your highness. He came with me."
"Well, at least your judgement of his prowess wasn't wrong."
"Thank you, your highness."
I cut the connection with Owl.
"Did you hear that, Orlin?"
"Yes, I did, your highness."
"Do you think he is right?"
"I do believe him, your highness. I didn't pay attention when the first wall formed. But I did pay close attention when the second formed up. And I couldn't feel any presence that I can suspect is responsible for the walls. And Owl told me that, 47's camouflage is almost impeccable.
So, that means he is the only person who can do this that will help you, your highness."
She sure can convince others with her reasoning.
