Chương 20: Chapter 19: Long way

When Olivia woke up she noticed everyone was getting ready for the short visit to her Gran's and since she didn't want to keep them waiting she quickly took a shower and applied the green slime on her skin.

She wore a simple pink shirt and a pair of jeans to look casual and as she got to her dad's car she noticed everyone had dressed casual too especially Dave.

He wore a black shirt and his leather jacket was tied around his waist. His expensive sneakers also helped boost up his casual attire and for a minute he looked, cute?

"No, no, Olivia no dirty thoughts it just a trip to Gran gran I mean how hard could it be" she whispered to herself.

"Olivia you came I thought after last night you'd change your mind or something"Dave said as he casually walked up to her and crossed an arm across her shoulder.

"I'm fine I just needed space"

"Good because we're leaving now" her dad replied as he sat on the driver's seat.

Olivia looked over to her mom who for some reason smiled at her. Her lips were halfway across her face and it seemed like she wasn't laughing at her. She looked around and remembered Dave's arm.

"Dirty mind" she was smiling at them and honestly who wouldn't. Her mom raised her brow as she gave them the "Can't wait till your dad finds out" look.

"Mom" Olivia said and her mom chuckled her way to the car.

"So, excited?" she asked a slightly relaxed Dave.

"Well yes, I can finally understand what family feels like" He said as his relaxed face changed a little as he finished his sentence.

They both got into the car and in a couple of minutes they were on the road. Olivia remembered her mom telling her that it was a six hour drive and she silently prayed that the slime would stay still for six more hours.

Dave looked at the slime container she was carrying and asked

"What you got there?"

Olivia pulled out her phone and sent a text instead.

"Slime, it keeps me visible"

"Oh, okay" he texted back.

They sent texts from time to time and before they knew it their six hour drive turned to a three hour drive with two teenagers texting.

"Yku know we have this tradition of singing when we're halfway home, wanna chime in?" Olivia's mom asked and Dave nodded slightly.

"Really, I can join" Dave asked as he looked at Olivia's dad.

"Yes and it's a tradition for me to put these on" he replied as he put in some ear plugs to avoid their loud squeaky voice.

"Thank you" Dave said as they started singing.

Unlike Olivia and her mom his voice was exceptional, it was smooth and for a minute he seemed lost in the lyrics. Olivia and her mom were shocked they never knew he was good at singing and as soon as the song was over they clapped for him.

"I never knew you were good at singing" Olivia's mom said as she looked at Dave.

"Me neither" Olivia said.

"My parents did but they just called it share luck they said the world needed business men than a no good singer" Dave said as he looked down slowly.

"Well if the world didn't need singers then why would they need nosy business men" Olivia's mom objected.

"Thank you" Dave replied as he brightened up again.

They sang for hours and it seemed like it was more like a concert than a short visit until Olivia's dad stepped on the breaks.

"We're here " Olivia's dad said as he looked for something.

"O, Olivia" an old voice said and almost immediately she knew who it was.

"Gran- Gran" she said as she ran to embrace her.

"I didn't expect you all here besides I said I was fine"

"We know we just came to check on you" Olivia's dad replied.

"So who is he?" her grandmom asked as she pulled her closer.

"He's a friend" Olivia replied.

"You look lovely mam" Dave remarked as he embraced her.

"Oh you remind me of Donald my husband, always having his way with women, he was as tall as you and he looked like trouble just like you either way I fell for him and I guessed Olivia did the same too" her grandmother said as she chuckled softly.

"Granny" Olivia said as she looked away shyly.

"Come on in" she said as she pulled Dave by the arm and dragged him inside.
